This Is The REAL New Hip Hop Club Hip Hop Album

Vote.

James 02-05-2011 02:23 PM

Rejoice!
I have played Alopecia and Fantastic Damage both to death. So I hope they lose. I voted for Macklemore because I have no idea what it is.

Charlemagne 02-06-2011 01:43 PM

I voted for EL-P, since I've always been interested in listening to him. That Doomtree and that Macklemore album are both incredible, but since I have both I didn't vote for them.

Mrd00d 02-07-2011 05:21 AM

What a tough choice...

but I've been dyin' for someone to in-depth analyze some El-P with, so hopefully we can start there...

Definitely! That's what i 've been hoping for too. It's such a dense album that I just don't know where to start.

I fell in love when I read the lyrics. Now I can follow along, but it was going over my head the first 20 listens.

Have a lot to say about Deep Space 9mm alone...

Are the rules/step up the same as the old club?

What do you mean by step up?

Voteeee I included rateyourmusic links to the album so you could all get an idea of what you're voting for. Except on Panacea, because Mrd00d did a little description of it himself. Poll will close in 7 days (after the Earl discussion is over - I realize Earl is going to have gotten more time out of this deal then everyone else but it was just because all this had to get sorted.) After that, I'll post te winner's album and then a new poll. You can nominate new artists to be added in here (and in subsequent poll threads.) I don't care how long the poll gets.
that's all I meant, will it be like that? 7 days to vote then a discussion thread for how long? and then will you take new nominations or just use some of the others that didn't get voted? or will you put up a new poll with the leftover nominations so that you work through the list that we have.

Phantom Limb 02-10-2011 11:06 AM

I see two options here: A) Have a new poll every week that includes ALL nominations (excluding those that have won) B) Choose the top 2-3 winners from every poll and only have a poll once every 3 weeks or so. What do you think?

I think it's better to have a poll pop up every week, otherwise it'll fade back and be harder to find. Also, just like voting more often. Personal preference goes to every week voting.

Phantom Limb 02-10-2011 02:19 PM

Weekly poll it is.

djchameleon 02-21-2011 10:35 PM

I noticed one big time omission. You don't have Rhymefest's El Che up there. I put his album up for nomination in the last club.

My bad. I'll throw that up on the next poll.

djchameleon 02-21-2011 10:41 PM

thanks, I have to admit I haven't listened to the album for this week yet but I will tomorrow and post my thoughts.

Mrd00d 03-02-2011 04:10 AM

Album of the month club :D

djchameleon 03-02-2011 04:28 AM

lol seriously...

Abearmauledme needs to put up a new poll or pick the next album like soon. maybe do it every two weeks if he can't keep up with doing it every week.

Sparky 03-02-2011 12:12 PM

what a lazy bitch

Phantom Limb 03-02-2011 01:32 PM

did you throw it up and I missed it?

:confused::confused::confused:

djchameleon 04-02-2011 08:37 AM

I'm going to try to get this up and rolling again since what's his face is a bit too busy for it.

I'll have the poll re-opened for tonight and edit it some.

Phantom Limb 04-17-2011 09:37 PM

I nominate Dizzee Rascal's "Boy in Da Corner" for the next poll.

I concur

For some reason all these new-more-real-than-ever Hip Hop Club Hip Hop Album polls and threads are the most confusing things on MusicBanter. I'm sorry that I don't have the patience to learn what's going on.

But I'd love to talk about 'Boy In Da Corner' - it's a great album.

Mrd00d 04-18-2011 12:49 AM

I'm just wondering when it gets started. It's been a pretty long time since we did El-P...

I already re-started it and the one that you missed out on was Doomtree there is an album discussion thread for it. Only 5 people voted because of the confusing threads. I'm pretty sure I asked a mod to close this one and move it to the graveyard to avoid this confusion but maybe they forgot.
