Old School: 1978 - 1983

Golden Age: 1986 - Early 90s

Those are only rough timelines (from Wikipedia)

Yeah, I guess the Beastie Boys did start out as a Hardcore Punk Rock band in '79, and didn't make the transition to Hip-Hop until around '83, and Cool J didn't get his career started until around '85. Going on 30years ago, I can see why people would get it confused and consider it old school vs. new school. I don't always hold 100% of value with what Wikipedia states anyway.
(But hey, thanks for the info Phzed)! :) That's good to know.

wow 3 pages about what artists I put on a list. its clearly just an example of the most dominant/ best i thought of at that moment. dont know why i put 50 cent on there. but you got my point regardless of whether you agree with the artists i named. there is always great music.
