He wants to shake loose any and all fakers and haters. I mean... a car alarm beat? It's dope. You just need to catch the words behind it.

This was the interview i was thinking of. Yeah after re-watching it i interpreted it wrong, it bothers me that he doesn't try to get deep , though he might just be selling himself short

And also, Del has been steady releasing info on Deltron II every few months since Fall/Winter. Additionally, there are two or three Deltron II tracks on youtube already. And there's a behind the scenes making of Deltron II video, about 10 mins. of Del at work recording...
He's been releasing info for it for like 5 years...I just wanna see it actually get released.

Those tracks on youtube are actually really good though

Nice interview dude... here's my piece:

It's unlisted. Only those with the link can see it, apparently...

and like he said, he gets deep here and there, in between the lines. It's just he doesn't just make concept albums all the time. He still drops raw wisdom, even on this free album.

I think Del is great but I'm really not into anything after Eleventh Hour . Both Sides Of The Brain is great, Hieroglyphics, and of course Deltron. I think he is really cool and all but as much as I hate to sya it I think he is washed up. I'm still looking forward to deltron II just like everyone else though.

Sometimes i feel like he gets a little preachy. It's always the "youth gotta stay motivated" this, "life is a blast when you know what your doing" that. Maybe it's because I'm at a stage of my life where I'm literally not doing anything, but i don't always want to listen to that ****, and I think it's why deltron appealed to so many people.

Del and I must have very different taste in hip-hop then.

I won't be able to find it now - but I remember an old article or interview where he talked about how Ice Cube (his cousin) tried to encourage him to rap about gangsta shit instead of the more truthful, personal things that Del preferred. I'm at least glad Del stuck to that philosophy. But it annoys me when he spends a whole song making cheap battle rhymes and repeating choruses about how all other MCs are worse than him. Boring.

Yeah, Del's pretty overrated. It's doubtful that Deltron II will live up to the first, but at least it'll be better than anything else he's put out.

Just given this album a listen and didn't think much of it, nothing compared to Del's other albums.
