Lil Wayne - Dear Anne
KarenCivil.com
Just thought id post this, just dropped. Most of you guys say he only raps about money, bitches etc. Just posting. |
For some reason I decided to listen to this.
The beat wasn't as bad as expected his voice wasn't as bad as expected the lyrics weren't as bad as expected but it's still not enough to make me a Lil Wayne fan, along with the facts: the majority of his output is ****ing awful the majority of his fanbase are stupid as **** |
LimeLinx - Preview - Nightmares Of The Bottom.mp3
that is also just something off Tha Carter IV which defies what you guys usually say |
Not everyone on this forum is a wayne hater. I like him, but I can see why other people wouldn't.
|
I'm a Lil' Wayne fan, but I was disappointed with "Dear Anne." I know it's meant to be a "Stan" knockoff, but that's all there is to it. Ok lyrics, ok beat. Sounded more like filler for his new album than a hit song.
|
I'm a lil Wayne fan myself and Swizz Beatz hooked him up this time.
That beat is awesome and I ended up with that song on replay about three times before I decided to focus on the lyrics/story. There wasn't much to it actually. Even if it was a Stan Knockoff I didn't hear anything story-wise the way that it happened in Stan. I just heard it to be a song dedicated to his number 1 fan and that's it |

but personally i think it's a copy cat from a song that eminem had talking about a fan as well. but this is just one song out of his, what hundreds of songs, that talks about money and bitches and etc. |
^nah its not the only song dude... at all
But Lol, yh its a spinoff. Its not meant to be Stan pt 2 its just meant to be Wayne writing a letter to his fan. And its a leftover from C4 @ oojay..... Nightmares Of The Bottom >>>>>>>>>>>>> Dear Anne ^That is C4 material |
is there any lil wayne song you dislike?
|
Quote:
But I appreciate every song that drops tbh |
so you choose to ignore him when he sucks?
I do the same with my favorite artists fersure But dude, that prom queen song was bad, i don't know how lil wayne himself thought that was okay to release. |

I can understand why you dont like it but I like when he does different types of ****. |

I like Wayne sometimes, not a big fan of this one though. The beat didn't do too much for me. |

Oh. Fair enough then. Still not a big fan of the song... But I am one of the minority on here that thinks Wayne's actually good, I will say he has ****ty songs (yeah, agree with Prom Queen) but he's made hundreds of them so there's plenty of good **** from him. And I'm excited for The Carter IV. I'm going to be ****ing pissed if it doesn't leak before I have to leave.
|
The beat wasn't bad, but it definitely didn't sound on par with other stuff made by Swizz Beatz.
|
^Yh swizz Basically just sampled the beat...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfSKyla5Xfo lol Quote:
but yh Its dropping June 21st and it probably wont leak till like a week before that when they ship it cos they arent even using email or anything, theyre just doing it old skool so hackers wont be able to get it. but he's dropping a mixtape "Sorry 4 The Wait" soon so yh... |

Lollipop" is the first single from Lil Wayne's sixth studio album, Tha Carter III.[1] The track features the late R&B artist Static Major and is produced by Deezle and Jim Jonsin.[1] The song was released digitally on March 13, 2008. The song is Lil Wayne's & Static Major's most successful to date, spending 5 non-consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

But how did I forget 'Dr. Carter' ? smh |

OP seems pretty biased since his avatar is one of the ugliest men on earth, and his username contains Wayne's twitter name. His voice still irritates me, and I used to listen to a lot of Wayne 3 years ago. At least he's telling a story here though.. Best thing he's made in a while. Still don't think he's going to get back to his glory days
|
Quote:
Please elaborate. Dont understand why you said that tbh. If you think he's that ugly then cool, im not into him because of his looks. And he looks iconic and swagged out, he aint tryna look like a model or anything. And all of that is still not relevant to his music. And his twitter name is @liltunechi not TunechiBaby ... just saying And this is not near the "best thing he's made in a while", the song is good but its just a throwaway from his album. And he didnt even record it for his album. If you think his voice is annoying, whatever. People love his voice, its distinctive, its not that typical rappers voice. |
if you don't think his look is relevant to his music and his overall success your ignorant (micheal jackson voice "thats ignorant)
I know for sure part of your appreciation for him is because he looks cool, you may not be aware of it but it's true. You don't get away with lyrics like "nigga im the **** get the **** up out my toilet" without appearing to be cool. |
Quote:
But that random person thinking he is ugly has nothing to do with what was being said in this thread, which was about his music not his overall career and image. Just a pointless comment. |
When discussing pop artists I'll argue that their image is just as important, if not more so, then their actual content.
Wiz Khalifa is obviously a terrible rapper, yet people still really like him because they idolize him and fantasize about being in his shoes. I'm not going to say Lil Wayne's fans are that star struck, but i do think it's similar to an extent(albeit wayne sometimes is talented) |
Quote:
Most people like Wiz because his tracks are mad chill the whole stoner rap thing, you might not like that content but it's okay |
Quote:
i personally prefer Inspirational, there's a specific beat that I can't put my finger to it. I swear I heard it somewhere. Dr. Carter was pretty decent too but it sounds more of like a mixtape than from an album, or is it just from youtube. |
Quote:
And Dr. Carter is of Tha Carter III, album. |

It's not the fact that he raps about weed, it's that he sucks at rapping...
