well, Innercity Griots is better, it was nice to see them flowing together rather than performing individual songs. and some of the production on here was a little dull in comparison to their second effort (Innercity Griots)

but the two biggest standouts to me on this: Aceyalone's My Fantasy and Myka 9's 7th Seal. this came out in 1991, and NOBODY was rapping at this level of intricacy. this shit still surpasses a LOT of modern day emcees as far as technical prowess goes. cats were studying "7th Seal" to learn how to rhyme in new ways

Myka 9 is my favorite here and one of my biggest inspirations in hip-hop. "7th Seal" is dope, but "5 o Clock Follies" is insanely great in my opinion... dayum

Aceyalone does damn good as well with "Here I Am". "My Fantasy" and "120 Seconds", which is a sick 2min. jam

Diggin on J. Sumbi's "Sunshine Men"... fairly chillin and solid

"120 Seconds" and "5 O'clock Follies" are my two favourite tracks from the album, as a whole it's a pretty solid album but I don't think it quite compares to "Innercity Griots".

It's interesting to see how different Aceyalone and Myka 9 are with Freestyle Fellowship compared to when they're on Haiku D'Etat.

Those early, jazzier, more free-flowing days...

this is the first time I'm hearing this group but I loved the album, the middle was a little weak imo but my favorite stand out tracks were "Legal Aliens" , "120 seconds", "Sunshine Men" and "Here I Am"

I know Innercity Griots but not this one.

To Whom It May Concern > Innercity Griots in my book

9/10 ---------------- 8/10

Not like either are bad, and different strokes and all that. I don't enjoy as many tracks off Innercity Griots. Like I have maybe 5 or 6 5-star tracks and a handful of 4 1/2-star tracks on TWiMC, but IG I only have like 1 or 2 5-star songs and the rest 4 1/2s and 4s...
