I recently came across this unsigned artist via his "Karma" mixtape on DatPiff. He has a sound similar to Everlast on "Whitey Ford Sings The Blues," or Kid Rock when he mellows out. Lots of rapping over acoustic guitar, and the somewhat southern draw in his voice makes it all the better. I'm really digging this stuff right now. His real name is Ryan Fleming, and he hails from Brooksville, FL. He cites Eminem, Yelawolf, DZK and Reba McEntire as his musical influences.

Couldn't really get behind the grungy-post 90's rock vibe he's incoporating into it. I know this is something you liked about it, but to me it feels bland and lacks punch.

kudo's for posting all these unknown artists tho, keep it coming.

After listening to all of his work that I could get ahold of ("Karma," "Southern Axesent," and "Shut Up & Rap" [Volumes 2, 3, and 4]), I found that he has quite a dichotmey amongst his albums. Some of it is the typical southern rap style, but the slower stuff is what I'm digging more, especially the stuff over acoustic guitar.

"Don't Know," "Midnight Train," "Up And Down," and "Down A Road" would be examples of my favorite tracks.

HARD TARGET has become a 3-member group now, last I heard.

I remember when I first found DatPiff. Hard Target was the only rapper on there that didn't look like a black crack head, so I gave his music a try. No regrets. They came through my city last year with The Lax, but I didn't get a chance to see them perform.
