Anyways Im tired of waiting and hearing rumors of detox. It's hip-hop biggest joke. Will he ever detox?

Plus he's a sellout. How could he do those cheezy commercials? I want to vomit!

The wait for Detox has been ridiculous. I think it originally was to be released in like '04 or '05. Just put the damn thing out already. Are you sure about the ghost producers? I didn't know he did that. I always respected Dre for his west coast style beats and always hated on him for his rapping which isn't very good in my opinion. Snoop and Dre are the two most over hyped rappers of all-time in my opinion. Neither has done much really worthwhile in a very long time. Snoop sold out a long time ago.

I don't hate on the sellouts though. I used to, but I can't hate on guys like Cube making kids movies and stuff. At the end of the day, if I was being offered a shitload of money to do a 30 second commercial or make a movie, you're damn right I'd do it. I think we'd all rather be paid and labelled a sellout than poor and respected.

Things I learned from this thread: One's musical ability and social class are apparently inversely related.

Lulz, I'm a white Metalhead from Canada, who likes the occasional gangster rap. So i'm glad I could entertain for a moment.

Lulz. Eazy-E was the master faker of the group, he didn't even write his own material.

Can we drop the term 'NOOB' from discussion also, it's quite childish.

On the subject of Dr Dre, I don't feel it's right to base his work upon a pair of headphones he put his name to.
He was a pioneering producer in west-coast rap, and has helped produce a lot of memorable songs.
As a rapper, he was above average, but by no means great.

Dre Beats are pretty good, but there not in the same league as a top of the range pair of Bose or Shure headphones! IMO.

As for Dre being a doctor, I do believe he actually has a PHD in something or another... which would make him a doctor in that sense.

As for his musical ability, he's pretty meh. I don't know how true the claim he uses ghost producers is, it's a well known fact that Scott Storch and Dre collaborated on Still Dre, he is credited with being a songwriter along with Mel-Man. So I don't know if I would define that as him being a ghostwriter on the track, but rather just another composer on it? I'll leave that up to you to decide.
And its wildly reported he uses ghostwriters for his rhymes. I remember Royce Da 5'9" in particular did a fair bit of work on 2001.
