This is all pretty interesting. but even in the quote you took from Wikipedia, it sounds like he did want to have a message but they told him it couldn't be too deep.

I find his music to be very upbeat and catchy. I always find myself singing along to his songs while i'm driving in my car

I liked Lupe Fiasco a lot when I was in high school, though I haven't listened to much of his recent stuff. This track always stood out for me:

I don't know, I was a bit disappointed with LASERS. Not that it was a bad album, but it just seems like an album made more for the label than something he wanted to make.

I would never have expected you to have liked him!

Yeah that's the controversy with that album in the thread right now. I mean, either way, it was good. Whether he wanted to do it or not, or whether is was "him" or not, I liked it.

He performed at my school and the performance was amazing, he has a great stage presence.
And his band was awesome too, the keyboard player is a jazz artist who has an album out, and the rest of the band was good and so much fun to watch.

Lupe has a lot of songs about changing the world and everything, he's going a lot harder than some of these new rap artists with nothing to say but how much money they have and everything.
Even if you follow him on twitter, you can tell he cares about the world around him.

Anyway, he was really good last night, even improv-ing and **** like that. I have some videos if anyone wants to see.
i wanna see them, please post!

The sound quality is pretty bad! I'll try to play with them a little to get them sounding good enough to post them, but it's hard to even hear what's going on. How unfortunate! My friend recorded some videos too, though, so I'll ask her.

Default My Favorite

Lupe Fiasco is my favorite rapper! If you like him as well you should get into his TheCool album. It is his second album and is a story (along with other fill in songs) about a character named Michael Young History (My cool young history). He created this character in his debut album Food & Liquor with the song The Cool. Anyway make sure you get his Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Disc 1 on September 25th.
