Default Finally found the first hip hop stuff that I like..

And usually I listen to metal, specifically, power metal.. I don't even like rap metal, I am into anything that is full of melodies, celtic, classical music, folk music, etc, doesn't even have to metal, I like opera as well.. When it comes to rap and hip hop.. Well, I don't like any of the "gangster" stuff at all.. I did like ICP and Twiztid for a little while in high school but quickly grew out of it..

But.. I like this new group called Smoke Serpent which is a musically project by a MMA/BJJ fighter known as Eddie Bravo and his studio 10th Planet..

The music is basically based on his martial arts background and his success in BJJ(Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) and how do I relate to this? Well I have been taking Jiu-Jitsu for years.. But.. I can't explain it, for hip hop, it's different, it almost reminds me of the metal music I like so much..

Hmm.. I can't say I liked any of those.. I did discover some more stuff though that I liked..

I am a huge fan of classical and folk music if it be opera, celtic or irish music, western swing, jazz, blues, etc.. You name it, but my favorite genre is metal and the thing about metal is that you can put any of that type of music into it.. So I am very picky about when it comes to rap/hip hop, I have not liked very much of it so I do not like very much rap metal either..

If someone did though happen to create some sort of melodic rap metal band, then I think it would be more interesting, give the rap metal genre a symphonic, melodic, orchestral sound and I think it could be great..

Although I'm happy that you found hip hop that you enjoy, I'm not really diggin it. Here's a hip hop track that has sampled guitars from Black Flag, you may like it.
