Allen Iverson took to rapping and he sucked.
ICP sucks.
John Cena sucks
Hulk Hogan should drop off the planet.
So it's not just wrestlers.

But I don't hold anything against a musician because of their prior jobs. It's just that the only thing wrestlers that go into the music business have in common is that they all suck.
It's not being narrow minded. It's making an observation.

ICP were not wrestlers turned musicians, they were musicians turned wrestlers, a big diggerence. and john cena doesnt suck. he has one album out and for being his debut, it was actually quite good. and hulk hogan is a wrestler. playing the bass guitar is just a hobby of his nowadays. so trying to define him as a wrestler turned musician is rediculous. and as for him needing to drop off the planet, well you just sound retarded talking like that. its hulk hogan. he was/is the greatest star in sports entertainment history. have a little respect.

Notice how you didn't pick on allen iverson.
hulk hogan is not the greatest star in sport entertainment history. It's either wilt chamberlain or yao ming.
and the bass guitar is a musical instrument. Playing it and then making records featuring his bass guitar playing makes him a musician.

You cant be serious. Yao Ming...is not near being the greatest star in sports..nor will he ever be. Hes ridiculously over rated and weak.[/COLOR]

I personally don't think I'll ever be able to takes wrestlers (or most other athlets) seriously as musicians but John Cena's starring in an upcoming movie called The Marine The title pretty much says it all.

ICP are not wrestlers, they had a few gimmicks on WCW, but wrestlers they are not, unless you want to make a big jump forward and call Drew Carry a wrestler.

ok genius follow me. professional wrestling is classified as sports entertainment. basketball, footbal, baseball, etc are just sports, not sports entertainment. and yes i realize that the bass guitar is an instrument, but whens the last time u heard hulk hogan pushing one of his albums, hmm......never?! so lets maybe know what we're talking about before we think we're an expert? um-kay?

edit: and you still havent said whats wrong with the title "the marine"

there's nothing wrong with the title The marine except that John Cena is very well known for his wrestling and calling a movie that (starring him) clearly tells you that he's going to be fighting in the movie and more or less is already restricting him to roles in movies as a bruiser of sorts.

And wrestling is a sport same as all the others you mentioned. However, all the other sports you mentioned are just as entertaining if not more entertaining than wrestling.
And the fact you wanna make that disctinction makes it seem as though wrestling is only meant to entertain people and makes it sound more fake than it already is.

I was joking about Yao Ming beong one of the greatest athletes ever. I had a to throw in a asian.

[MERIT] 10-09-2006 08:35 PM

yes i realize that all the other sports are entertaining, but they dont bill themselves as "sports entertainment." wrestling and wrestling alone is "sports entertainment." it is called so because while it is a sport, the endings (for the most part) are predermined, prompting many to not call it an actual sport. so the athleticism and ring work, combined with the drama and storylines make it sports entertainment.

edit: and john cena starring in one movie as a marine will hardly restrict him to "bruiser" roles. i guess we'll just have to see the film to determine whether or not his acting career will have a future.

on one hand you raise a valid point. but on the other you are arguing about a wrestler (who cares?)

so why does his profession have any bearing? youre not really saying much. and john cena fans care i suppose.

[MERIT] 10-16-2006 09:57 PM

haha Kevin Federline was on WWE Raw tonight and John Cena came out and challenged him to a battle rap. K-Fed refused and Cena F-U'd his ass (his version of the death valley driver). it was classic.
