I think Illmatic is pretty damn flawless, It Was Written is good, and after that there are a few cuts here and there I listened too from the rest of his Discogs. In terms of Jay-Z there are about 5 songs of his I enjoy, and two of them take from Nas in the first place lol. Nas > Jay anyday.

illmatic is more or less universally acknowledged as a classic by the vast majority of people who know/appreciate 90's east coast hip hop
where as the albums i mentioned are only really repped by hardcore nas fans |

no, you can say anything is mediocre if you like
i can say beethoven's 9th is mediocre if i like but saying only nas fans rate illmatic is like saying only wu fans rate 36 chambers i.e. makes you sound like you have no clue what you're on about |

says who?
and you should re-read the quote that you "fixed," cause that's exactly what you said. |
No edit bruh, I just said that it was reped by hardcore Nas fans to flip what you said earlier about those other two albums. You're the one who tossed in the word 'only' with your comment. I realize its universally acclaimed, doesn't mean I have to agree with it.
Let's just agree that we don't like the same mediocre albums. |
then you didn't understand the quote you were "fixing," cause i was saying only nas fans would rep an album like hhid or streets disciple. i was defining the traits of a nas fan in my own perception. which is my opinion. but by replacing those albums with illmatic you were basically saying the same applies to illmatic. which is the statement i was criticizing here:
