If this is true, then she spoke about something she doesn't know much about. The difference between her and everyone else is that she's famous and an easy target for a bunch of pseudo-philosophers to appear smart by insulting. I know we have our differences, DJ, so to be clear I don't have any problem with you posting the article, but what passes for journalism and thought these days is really scraping rock bottom. None of it does anything for the betterment of society, its just for the writer to use as a stepping stone to their own Today Show interview.
The more I listen to her the more that her "accent" bothers me. I've been listening to her for like the past two years but her vocal black face is starting to grat my nerves in the worse way. There is a bigger commentary about certain white rappers deciding that's it is okay to go around acting like exaggerated characters of black people that rubs me the wrong way. You might be fine with cultrual approriation especially since you give zero fucks about running in a race and participating in a basterdized verision of Holi.

Also just because she is in the music industry doesn't give her an automatic pass to be ignorant. She also has a whole team behind her and they aren't speaking open to even clue her in on what she is doing. I guess it does make sense though because why would you want to harm your cash cow.

I see the article as an opinion piece that opens up discussion. Even if it's discussion that you disagree with. It still needs to be talked about because it's problematic. They aren't trying to win any journalism awards just create a discussion at the very least.

So bad in fact I'd argue the link DJ posted is at least somewhat insightful. Just because she's inadvertently blind to her own subliminal racism doesn't mean iggy should be spared criticism. The whole issue of white cultural appropriation at the expense of hip hop's original social good or w/e has been a dead horse for some time.

Of all the swagger jackers iggy is the lamest, no doubt

There's a difference between being a white rapper. I have countless examples in my blog post of how ignorant she is, but that's not the only point. Not only is she ignorant, but she is offended TONS of races while appropriating those same races. THAT is my problem. My problem is that Iggy Azalea is racist as hell, has a stupid accent when she raps that isn't even hers (and don't you dare compare that to when people sing with a British accent or vice versa), she is full of herself, and a lot of these problems wouldn't even EXIST if she wasn't so damned racist.

If she sang and rapped like a normal human being and stopped trying to play up all of these stereotypes, I might have tried to hate her a little less.

Also see: http://instagram.com/p/poCTcWLU8S/
And read those comments. Some people aren't willing to see that PEOPLE ARE MAD. There is literally no reason musically or any other way that Iggy Azalea should be above Nicki Minaj unless it's a RACE issue.

Also, this quote was from a white man so ya'll better get on ya game

Oh good, Sociology 101 threw up all over the forums again. You people can find racism and "cultural appropriation" ****ing any where. Eventually, I assume you'll commit yourselves to something that actually makes a difference. Until then, I hope posting on the internet solves your problems.

Whatever your opinion of Iggy - I've only heard Fancy and seen photos of her ass (by the way, is she appropriating anything with her ass, because I think white folks are supposed to have none, right?) - My point (that you ignored and climbed on your soapbox anyway) was she's a dip****. She also happens to be from a former prison colony. I still don't get why you were expecting her to say or be socially minded.

If you can stop posting scripted responses from Jezebel and answer the question, I'd appreciate it.

Edit:

Are we still giving Australians free dipshit passes for that? It's been over 150 years.

If you would take the time to actually read my post instead of picking out one thing you don't like then writing a respond and crying about your question not being answered you will see that your question WAS answered. Not just by me but by Sparky as well. I'm not going to repeat myself. You can scroll back and re-read them both.

Not that this has anything to do with our conversation but unlike you. I actually make a difference in my community and do give back so kick rocks.

Primo logic there bro. I don't expect you to be socially minded because we had slavery in the US.
