The Beat Fleet

ok...i wanted to post a link to some of their songs but there aren't any, so i have a small request, can you download any of their songs, i'm just curious what and outsider ( non-croatian ) would think of it...in my opinion they're the most talented band in croatia...great hip-hop with a dalmatian twist ( dalmatia is a province in croatia with a very south-italian mentality )

adidasss 06-29-2005 05:14 PM

ok, so i do have 2 links to some clips of their songs but what i really want is for someone...anyone, to hear this one song that's bombass, i have it on my comp and i was wondering if someone ( with msn maybe?) would be willing to take the time to download it from my comp.......anyone?

adidasss 07-24-2005 05:48 AM

Interesting, to say the least.

Fenixpunk 07-24-2005 10:10 AM

papi love - I like it, kind of a sublime feel to it.

adidasss 07-24-2005 12:10 PM

yeeeyy....i'm so happy you like it, so what does the croatian language sound like, and did you feel the easy goin vibe of the adriatic? could you listen to something you don't understand? ( their lyrics are awsome btw )....do tell!

Fenixpunk 07-24-2005 12:18 PM

i listen to alot of spanish punk rock and been to a few shows in mexico where all of the bands sang in spanish, the language barrier isnt too important if everyone is feeling the same vibe. Music is like a language in itself.

adidasss 07-24-2005 01:34 PM

a great attitude but i am afraid not everyone shares it
i am very impressed by the very distinguished group of gentlemen that gave it a try, i am honored...
( notice the lack in use of abreviations and the very posh structure of sentences...i am reading Harry Potter and will be posting in such mannor the next few weeks...;))

adidasss 07-26-2005 01:38 PM

the beat fleet - nostalgicna (the nostalgic one)...i love this song....

adidasss 05-01-2006 09:53 AM

The beat fleet - je'n dva ( one two ) crank it up bitches!!

Now I see why you told me not to compare your language to German. One day Imma learn to speak it, sounds easier than Russian! I'm noticing that your Mediteranian isn't too different than my Carribean. Kinda got a Bohemian melody with a Latino flare and strong somewhat American rock delivery...love it! Imma see about picking up a CD, what's some albums to look for?

haha..glad you like it, although you'll have trouble finding any albums...i'm gonna upload all three of them one of these days....they got pretty good lyrics too, but it would take me too long to translate them and it loses it's meaning....

they're awesome live, they have a live band and basically sound more like a rock band than a hip hop band....( think the roots ). it's nice to see how they progressed from the programmed beats on the first album to the live instruments on the last one...

Doc.DGAF 05-05-2006 08:10 AM

Well what are the albums tittled? I could probly find 'em via Ebay or Amazon. I don't like downloading. Support the artist, buy the album.

Alright, for the curious, since the thread was made yonks ago, here are some songs youtubed:

It's not very good quality. Comes with vintage footage of Dalmatia which completes the lazy summer vibe (which I guess you don't get through music alone). (Alles gut is the German expression for everything's alright...I think).

The title translates to The nostalgic song. I think you can pick up the vibe.

Again, really bad quality. This used to be my favorite song in high school. It's called I'm a little crazy. The gist is in the lyrics, as with most hip-hop so you won't get much out of it. :\

This must be a new one because I haven't heard it before. It's in good quality and samples a classic Dalmatian song so you can pick up a bit of that Mediterranean vibe that part of the country has in spades (the mandolin and all that).

Thanks for posting those adidasss! I'm not sure it's music I'd go out of my way to listen to but I liked a couple of those songs. My favorite was probably "Malo San Maka". "Alles Gut" was pretty good too, as was the song that comes on after it in the YouTube video ("UV Zrake" I think).

simplephysics 04-06-2009 04:26 PM

Good stuff adidasss, very laid back and easy going hip hop.

I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to it either, but it's the coolest thing Croatia's got to offer...

Heh. Well I think part of it is just the timing. I assume a lot of this stuff is from the late 90s, I bet if I heard it then I would've been more into it.

adidasss 04-06-2009 05:03 PM

Probly not, like I said, it's mostly about the lyrics, plus the production is really shittty...:\ Thanks for giving it a go though, at least now you know what Croatian sounds like....;)
