Shows how valid these awards are.

The eligible albums can be from the previous year. It goes from Oct 2012 to Sept 2013.

Jay-Z deserved to win so he did.

Kendrick wasn't snubbed. He is more talented than Macklemore but his album as a whole wasn't better than The Heist.

People want to bring in the whole white male priv thing but honestly they need to be cheering for the fact that an independent artist did that **** on his own and won a big award.

I am happy with the Grammy's. They gave Draft Punk album of the year.

It has nothing to do with him being white, agree there.

I see where you are coming from but based on how the Grammy's operate, Macklemore technically did not deserve to win.

If the Grammy's are only acknowledging the most popular songs and albums in certain genres why would they give it to a rap artist that did not have the biggest single or one of the biggest selling albums of the year?

Once again I know that none of these things are an indicator of quality but it just does not seem fair that the Grammy's would suddenly make an exception for Macklemore especially since his album was not all of that.

If that is the case why didn't they nominate Janelle Monae for Electric Lady? She did not get ONE nomination and you mean to tell me they are going to give three Grammy's to this white rapper nobody does not even know about?

C'mon now...

It is ALOT of politics, cliques and payola with the Grammy's which is why I don't take them seriously.

Kendrick's album was more critically acclaim than Jay Z's and Macklemore. He had a much bigger year than those two as well.

He did get snubbed Sunday night.

Jay Z will always get a nomination and will always get a Grammy because he is "Jay Z" not because he makes prolific quality rap music.

Kendrick's album was way better than his.

How did Macklemore NOT have the most popular singles during last year? Thrift Shop, Same Love, Can't Hold Us.

Name all of Kendrick's singles that were so popping last year that they took over mainstream radio. Only Swimming Pools made a dent that's about it.

His album wasn't all that to you but he covered more social issues than Kendrick did and that propelled him to having the rap album that people who don't listen to rap gobbled up because of it. The same people that think that all rap is misogynistic and wanted to hear something different than current radio rap.

Just because you don't know about him doesn't mean he wasn't hot last year. You decided to ignore him. Maybe because he's a white rapper and you just want to discredit his hustle but he's been in the Seattle underground scene for years rapping. He has paid his dues and pushed his independent album out and was able to garner mainstream attention. The song "Can't Hold Us" is an older song of his and he ended up putting it on The Heist.

He had a big year as a featured artist sure and the critics were sucking his dick over his album but it wasn't the next coming of Jesus. The critics praised Macklemore's album as well.

I refuse to believe that.

I never heard any of the songs on the radio.

I didn't even know who Macklemore was for that matter before the Grammys.

Poetic Justice, Money Tree's and he was a feature on many other popular songs.

He was the number one rapper on the radio for the majority.

I don't think its that deep hun. I think they gave it to him because he was white. Once again patting the white man on the back for doing "black music''

He could have been blue, purple, black etc his album was not better than Kendrick and it wasn't as popular.

There are a TON of people that were not aware of him before the Grammy's which is understandable because he is not an mainstream artist which is why I baffled that you think his singles were more popular than Kendrick's. Kendrick was EVERYWHERE last year.

I honestly didn't even know he existed before the Grammy's

Thats what I'm saying. He is not a mainstream artist so I don't know why you think he was more popular than Kendrick who was and is backed by a mainstream label. He was heavily saturating the Rap/Hip Hop stations. If it wasn't Jay Z, it was a Kendrick song on those stations constantly.

I think Kendrick's album is overrated but it is still better than Macklemore. Kendrick deserved best new artist. I find him to be overall more talented than Macklemore...even Macklemore knows it

Yea and his wack.... thats what I am saying, where did they find him? LOL

I tell you the Grammy's are funny. They will dig up a underground white wack rapper before they do a black underground rapper?

NO WAY he deserved that over Kendrick

People overreacted like crazy to this verse. You'd think they were on their shark week
