Early 90s Late 80s Rap Music

Now, i'm doing my own research and learning to appreciate how hip hop & rap came to be as far as today. I don't know every single rapper from back in the days but that's why i look em up and read enough about them to see the bigger picture of how it was. It would be cool to keep this thread going since i know there's people that have favorite old school artists in mind.
This track is an ultimate classic in my opinion, even the beats sets the whole mood. If you have mind to contribute, enlighten me.

The Pharcyde - Passin' Me By | 1993

De La soul : Eye Know
Beastie Boys: Car Thief
Public Enemy: Black Steel in the Hour Of Chaos
A Tribe Called Quest: Buggin Out
Nas : One Love
The Wu Tang Clan: C.R.E.A.M.
Cypress Hill : Hand on the Pump
Souls of Mischief: '93 Til Infinity

and the list could go on...........

^ Indeed. I think this was the best era for hip hop in all honesty. Some of the greatest hip hop albums and songs were created during this period. I dont think this period gets enough respect. Alot of people hype up the mid to late 90s but I personally think the groundbreaking stuff was during the late 80s/early 90s.

Dred Scott was the man back in the early 90's. Check out his song called Nuttin to Lose.

I loved rap during this period, here are some of my favs, excluding the whole NWA, DRE, Public Enemy, Hammer stuff, which I also love.

Spice 1: No studio gangster here.

I'm the ****ing murderer

Digable Planets: Everyone remembers Cool Like That, but this was always my favourite track by them

Pacifics

Gravediggaz: The pioneers of horrorcore.

Jungle Brothers - There are a few versions of this song, but I think this is far better than the video version with De la Soul

Doin Our Own Thing

Geto Boys - Again a few different versions of the song. The clean version for the radio is actually better produced. If you can get the version that clocks in at around 5:57 get it. I can't find it on You tube.

Mmmm, yes, the Poor Righteous Teachers, good stuff.

Another personal fav that I use to play to death back in the day.

Lords of the underground

I don't know, I absolute LOVE the Gravediggaz, but I think Esham was the real pioneer of horrorcore.

I'm a fan of posse cut tracks and this is one of the great ones from the late 80s.
