I need to make sure I'm checking the net more regularly. Wiley is a pioneer. If it weren't for him none of the British rappers who have enjoyed success over the past decade like Dizzee, Tinie Tempah, Wretch 32 etc. would have been as successful. I love when Wiley just makes music, not worries about a radio hit. I have enjoyed some of his radio hits, but songs like "Flying" are the true essence of Wiley.

Agree with it all mate, post more. If you look at any UK rapper from 2002 onward, with the exception of N Dubz you can trace them back to Wiley. Arguably even the Road Rap guys like Giggs.

Wot Do You Call It - YouTube

This short video is pretty cool. Explains how he invented the sound at the time.

Wiley has lost the plot over the past few days and is currently talking a bag of shit on Twitter. Saying that I spoke to him and Snakes & Ladders is finished, three singles then he's dropping it. So he says.

Can't get enough Wiley? Thought so. Here's a digitally released single from 2010.
