TPAB or MBDTF?
Which very acclaimed modern hip-hop record do you consider better?
For me it's TPAB by far. |
Heard neither, but from what I've checked out in general, Kanye seems more exciting to me.

Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Both garbage

Add an MC Hammer option.

Unfortunately I've never heard MBDTF except for 'Blame Game' cause it sampled Aphex Twin, but I have heard TPAB and liked it despite Kendrick being one of the most pretentious and overrated hip hop artists in the game today. But I'm not going to give Kanye the short end of the stick just because I haven't heard his opus so no vote for me.
Probably would vote for MC Hammer too, tbh |

I just can't understand the love for these albums. |

I have no real opinion on Kendrick Lamar but he does these cringy voices that remind me of how Axl Rose does ****ty voices.

Being boring as af is the main problem though

And yeah a lot of the **** on TPAB is boring. Thus why I think it's just ok. I still come back to 'For Free?' sometimes but maybe that's cause it's gimmicky more than high quality. |
TPAB is a crap album. So many bad decisions on it.
|
I listened to TPAB while drawing a map one day alone in a room. I really fell into that album because of how focused I was on drawing, but once the album was done, I didn't care. I would've listened carefully and closely to any album while I was in the zone at that moment. That was my most recent try at hip hop again. And again, even with a close, personal listen, I still don't care for the genre (generally).

Bookmarked.

Do you guys trashing TPAB like hip-hop? Cause to me it is up there with any of the greatest rap albums: ATLiens, Illmatic, Ready to Die, etc. Easily beats MBDTF to me, but I love both

Is "all fuck" a thing?

It's a command.
Kendrick obviously, the jazzy production on the record is great. I can appreciate some of Kanye's production but MBDTF is not one of those cases. |

To Pimp has its low points, but c'mon man...this kicks ass.

(And that’s a very low bar) |
I love both of these albums, hard pick for me. Might have to go with Kanye though.
Edit: It's such a wonderful display of self indulgent arrogance and superficial gluttony blown to a completely distorted version of reality. A precursor to the concept of Yeezus in portraying his worst fears of losing who he was to a completely shallow and self absorbed monster of himself. |
