Of course people like Atmosphere. Atmosphere is the perfect mixture of slightly abstract lyricism with catchy emotional rapping, all packaged neatly with great production. There are plently more underground rappers/rap groups that are better, but Atmosphere is a great group to fall back on. It's not too hip-hop but it still holds its ground. I was raised on rock and i love music music, not rap music. This is music music. I like it...
Also See: Brother Ali, Sage Francis(Non-Prophets), Aesop Rock, Eyedea and Abilities, Supastition, etc...if you're in dire need of discovering anything underground rap, talk to me. I only listed what everyone else would list.

I love Atmosphere. Slug is definitely one of the best MC's out there, while Ant is an above-average producer.
