no doubt- ska come back?

as you know orange county ska band no doubt had kinda drifted from the ska sound they had started out with. it was slow and disapointing death of no doubt ska. since gwen has with the whole japan gimmick, witch is kool that she can do that also, do you think no doubt will ever make a come back into the skankin world of ska?

No, they never will. But at the same time Gwen Stefani continues to use alot of familiar ska beats rythms and styles in her own solo music.

No Doubt is to Ska as Willie Nelson is to Death Metal

I'm ressurecting this thread.

I've been a fan since I first heard them in the mid-90s. I LOVED self titled No Doubt. Anybody heard "Oi! Goes the World!" Its a pretty great song. Then they went onto Tragic Kingdom, I didnt like that so much, I liked "Happy Now" and "Excuse Me" from that. I thought Return of Saturn transported them to a whole different genre, severing their ties to ska and reggae music. However, Return of Saturn is my favorite CD. Its so close to my life, I love it so much.

....Then came Rock Steady and they turned into ****. Oh well.
And Gwen Stefani sold out big time. The old Gwen is my idol. I loved her, and now she's gone. Gotta move on.

And so goes my resurrection.

i agree with piper, yeah gwen used to be sweet, she's is so f-ucking irritating now. shes like the only girl lead singer of a band that i love except dresden dolls.
and now....................................goddamn shes ghetto.

i dont think they will make a come back..
and i also dont think they have ever been ska

Yes they have. When Eric Stefani and his friends started the band in the early 90s, they were caught up in the whole ska "movement" of a sort. Their first CD reflects this. Then Eric Stefani left the band and they slowly made their way to 90s alternative, and then to the crap they're doing now.
