Oh and sharpieboy, I beleive I read that ****, and you are right it is damn tight. I love that stuff. Tosh is so smart and wise, I dont agree with all of his beliefs, but he has a lot of rad ones.

man ... Peter Tosh is the man! Such a soulful and resilient warrior! He was a man of great character - and his music spoke volumes to this fact. One of the original wailers!

Peter Tosh is such an important icon in reggae music. He was alot more militant and intense than Bob Marleys mellow mood. Marley is more like "One Love, One Heart" while Tosh is more like "Get Up Stand Up!" I always liked that about him.

Its so tragic how he died, he went way too soon.

I'm curious why Bob Marley is so looked down upon and my sense is that reggae isn't supposed to be about peace and love? I personally like Marley's timbre over Tosh's, but I haven't heard a great deal of Tosh songs (I did go through a couple mentioned here, but most of them were live, so I'm comparing them to Marley's studio recordings). I feel that there's a lot more soul in Marley's voice, but I'm not very versed in reggae music, I love playing the backbeat though.

I don't think Bob Marley is necessarily looked down upon. I've never ran into anyone who enjoys any form of reggae music that shared a dislike for Bob; or his music. Bob and Tosh's styles - and representation to the 'movement' are just different. Not to mention there's a certain percentage of the 'reggae' population that understand the socio-political struggle pitted between both artists; some chose Marley, some chose Tosh - while a large percentage (including me) enjoy both. One achieved worldly acclaim during life while the other after death.

I like him way better than Marley. Marley was too soft for me, Tosh was militant and tough. Easily the greatest reggae artist of all time.

Nice selection, Elvis. I think I'll get one of his albums. Any recommendation?
