street light?
possibly the best ska band?
reel big fish? who else? |
streetlight manifesto? because they're awesome. and have a "new" album.
reel big fish is cool, too. |
The Slackers.

Streetlight is amazing, I agree. I am trying to learn the horn part to Everything Goes Numb and it is hard as hell. They are stuff is so great though.
RBF is good too, I own all thier abums save The Show must go off because I dont like listening to them live that much. They make very good songs overall though. |
oh and the toasters = godly.
|
streetlight is a very good band but I have never really been found of reel big fish.

Yeah, Streetlight Manifesto is pretty shibby. Much better than Catch 22 imo.

operation ivy are a close second. Streetlight are good, but overated. |
I really dislike bands like Streetlight or RBF. I think their brand of music does contribute to the overall half-the-true-story image of ska (talked about in the Hate for Ska thread). I think right now The Slackers are one of the best things going in terms of the easily accessible (also Dave Hillyard's stuff is pretty damn good). Over time, no one beats the Skatalites. End of story.
