The Specials are second wave... so why give him third wave bands... just sayin' maybe some stuff more like the Toasters would be up your ally if you are looking for second wave

Not saying 3rd wave is bad its my personal favorite but this kid wants stuff like the specials

Beth is a girls name, and many of those bands are not heavy punk ska, they are similar in certain aspects of their music to The Specials. First, second or third wave. It's all good. Head's up on THE TOASTERS, forgot about those. Although they started in 81, they are usually classed as third wave too.

I thought The Toasters were second wave, I love'em I go tot see 'em back in may at Ska Prom '07 at the Agora Ballroom with Mustard Plug, 80HD, and the Briggs
^No clue why The Briggs played Ska Prom but I'm not complainin' they are a great band (not ska though)

The Toasters formed having been influenced by The Specials. They could technically be classed as second wave, but their sound was another slight variation on the traditional ska sound-they are a great band and their longevity is to be applauded.
