Default The Fad

Third wave ska is still a niché but much loved genre over the past few years. However bands like REEL BIG FISH and BIG D AND THE KINGS TABLE are still playing a seemingly safe brand of cheeky second rate punk riffs and ska.

The Fad whilst being fairly unoriginal, still manage to marriage Punk and Ska and be half decent at both. Their album KILL PUNK ROCK STARS sails periously close to being cliched, yet a genuine affinity for Punk and Ska shines through. Check out the aforementioned title track on Myspace then the track SKA BOOM to see what I'm talking about.

wow. punk and ska. i never saw the day that someone could actually pull this off. I mean i was impressed with Streetlight Manifesto and i know they dont do punk but The Fad is by far amazing to me.

Jimmy Doyle is a great vocalist and he really brings out the Ska for this band.

well punk alone is not the best most satisfying genre to listen to, but when you add another genre for it. it sounds awesome
