Default Operation Ivy was amazing

I have listened to the only full length album they ever put out at least a hundred times and it never gets old.

It seems that there's more than one Operation Ivy, because the only Operation Ivy I've ever heard of isn't reggae or ska...

Pretty sure he's talking about the notorious punk/ska band. They have plenty of ska songs. Maybe you just heard the punk ones.

Sadly I never had a chance to see Operation Ivy, but me and my friends played their music a hell of a lot back then on many of our road trips. Back in '87 I got the Maximum Rock 'n' Roll collection Turn it Around that had "I Got No," played it for my friends, most of them who got hooked to their sound. Good stuff.

I used to listen to "Energy" nonstop back in early early high school. I loved Op Ivys sound, they were true ska punk. I may not be as into them as I used to be but their influence and legacy has always stuck with me.

Tim Armstrong is also pretty kick ass
