great poll

Eugene 12-09-2009 10:02 AM

The Natty Dread Album is a Marley fave of mine along with Burnin, trackwise it has to be Livley up yourself for me......

shahmods 12-09-2009 10:45 AM

Difficult to choose

It is difficult to choose from all bob marley's songs coz all of them are as good... maybe no woman no cry stands out just a bit for me.. maybe a bit..

all his songs are purely awesome!!

ElephantSack 12-11-2009 04:59 PM

"Waiting in Vain".

I really dig "Easy Skanking" because it reminds me of my friends that move to Portland, OR.

nss26 01-03-2010 07:04 PM

Sorry for bumping this thread, but I'm so glad people brought up Redemption Song.

That's my second favorite. Easily the best though, Stop That Train.

Mick 01-03-2010 08:26 PM

Buffalo Soldier would be mine, just.

Lizard Queen 02-10-2010 09:31 AM

Could You Be Loved and Three Little Birds

Monk 02-11-2010 10:36 PM

I'm going with Three Little Birds...because it's the only one i know

Mancini Scratch 02-13-2010 07:57 PM

From the list its got be Three little birds.
If your feeling down bang this on and you'll be cheered.

If you feeling happy bang this on and you get happier still

Win-Win Situation with this song.

Lafonett 02-24-2010 04:49 AM

All of his songs are beautiful, but Sun is Shining is the best for me.

Daktari 02-24-2010 01:17 PM

There is a version of Redemption Song that starts off as an acoustic version then about half way through, the band comes in and it turns into a full reggae beat? I know I've heard this somewhere but I can't remember which album it's on?

I play a lot of one-man reggae and do I think five Bob songs, I like them and most folks recognise them as opposed to some of my one-man Gregory Isaacs which most folks don't know. Still play them anyway...

I like 'One Love' because it seems to sum up a lot of what he was about.

Loose_control 02-25-2010 02:13 AM

No women no cry is great. The Fuguees version is cool too

Berkeleyboy 02-28-2010 07:06 PM

there's so many...he really wrote for every occasion. i tend to prefer his older, raw, funkier stuff before he attempted to crossover. but even then, his being influenced by african-american artists like curtis mayfield and james brown were evident. I love "feel alright" for it's raw joy, and "send me that love" for it's emotion and minimalism.
but really, you can't talk about early bob without talking about peter and bunny. and on many of their best early work. bunny sings lead. check "let him go", a beautiful song. that's bunny singing! bunny was bob's favorite singer.
I wish i could post the youtube videos, but until i have to wait get 15 post :(

Taytayism27 03-25-2010 02:47 PM

I agree with Blue, there is simply too too tooooo many Marley songs to have a poll on the subject. I personally have trouble picking favorite anythings in general. Latley I have been digging on the original recording of one love, and also judge not, and one cup of coffee.
Them early Marley recordings, are soooo good. As well as most everything else I have ever heard from him.

lazy P 03-31-2010 11:09 PM

One love

the song title says it all

zeppy111 03-31-2010 11:34 PM
