well, the Mods should merge this with that thread, then

I finally have a chance to see these guys’ insane live show but am **** out of luck as I don’t have any money right now.
I have all of Rammstein’s releases and listen to “Live Aus Berlin” the most (amazing live album!) but enjoy everything they did with maybe the exception of “Rosenrot” which was a little on the weak side. The only concern I have is that the band doesn’t seem to vary their style or sound very much and this may start to grow old on subsequent releases. |
not a fan. Rammstein are the perfect example of a band that is image over art. Their music isn't very good, and has recycled itself for years.. most likely just cause they put more thought into fire and simulated butt sex than they do writing something memorable.

Rammstein in English is hilarious. I loved listening to Til sing in English... and can not forget the laugh riot that is their cover of Depeche Mode. seriously, if you don't find this hilarious. I am concerned for you. No way this is meant to be serious. |

I used to be a die hard fan back in the day. Nowadays, they sorta bore me. Their music sounds rather bland and uninspired to me these days. And after hearing Laibach and KMFDM, any respect for their "otherness" sorta went out the window. Derivative much?

the first 2 albums, anyway |
The thing about Rammstein is; if you do not own proper audio equipment, you have not actually heard them!
The discs they produce are state of the art and therefore require correspondingly quality music set ups, in order to fully appreciate them. You Tube is a compressed dead loss and responsible for 'dumbing down' many so called fans of any groups. Especially german bands like Rammstein and Eloy who spend a great deal on production |
A very special and dear friend of mine once told me the same thing about not 'hearing' the music without a proper rig. In fact without one, I have been told...the listener 'misses' the dimension of sound....and the actual quality and depth of the instrumentation. This is not only true for Rammsteing and Eloy....but for all other stellar prog bands and their respective material. Is this not so?

what music doesn't sound better on a "proper rig"?
I doubt anyone will go out and invest in a super stereo system just to listen to Rammstein suck in more "dimension of sound". |
Rammstein-Boring as hell. Especially when you consider the heavy rock talent that has come out of Germany over the last 3 decades.

Scorpions, Can, Amon Duul II, Neu, Lucifer's Friend, Night Sun, Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray, Kreator, Sodom and Grave Digger. Also if we include the German speaking part of Switzerland we have Krokus, Celtic Frost and Coroner. |
Forgot Atrocity, but I forgive you.

oh, and Immortalis
Amazing German Death Metal band. Might even add Apophis for good measure |

but a quality rig .....makes a 'fabulous' song sound 'stellar' [just saying :)] |

i'm a musician, i prefer music "dry" and "soft" - can hear the notes clearer that way |

Nice try though. |
So it can be concluded that Rammstein sound crap, regardless of whether the listener has a super stereo system or Howard's netbook speakers.
|
not going to lie though, i like this song...... but only cause i like that bass line
and it kinda sounds like he says cum in my butt in the start of it. |

Try listening to some audiophile equipment and you will immediately realise that this is the case. You will hear a 'sound stage', you will hear instrument placement, the breathing of the vocalist, the finger of the musicians moving and more..... If you listen to the Alan Parsons Project you can actually hear Alan fingers moving the sliders on the mixing desk. Your argument supposes that going to listen to a top orchestra playing in the Albert Hall is the same as listening to it over the telephone. Clearly the two experiences are diametrically opposed. |

rammstein
gidday all i'm a kiwi living in northern italy and really enjoying rammstein. Last night watched for the umpteenth time meinteil...this time live in tokyo. Gotta love how much the band enjoy themselves during their shows.
So heres my problem. 10 yrs ago when i arrived here, i saw a music video. I was sure it was the song where they count down from 10 in german (that song is sonne) but it doesnt go with the video i saw. It was a well to do family sitting down at the dinner table and the young son's face kept flashing with the face of a demon. Any help out there?:banghead: |
Hmmm, the only song I ever appreciated by Rammstein was "Du Hast" or whatever haha sorry, no help.
|
really?? then check out any meinteil live. To fall in love with rammstein some have to watch their videos
|
Their lyrics are friggin scary and disturbing, but they make it all sound just awesome. I love their music, except the song Mutter because it makes me cry every time. XD They are unforgettable live.
And have you seen the video for Mein Land? That one is just hilarious! |
I love Rammstein. I remember being kind of obsessed with them once lol. They're the main reason why I wanna learn German.
They're kind of predictable in their music, though. |
Rammstein are a brilliant band, there songs don't get old and they can put on a great show. I don't think they will make history in a musical sense but maybe the fact that they are German and have been one of the only german bands that have been recognized on a worldwide scale will get them inprinted in the history books. They are definately unique.
