i was also surprised Cash wasnt on the list, and after your reason i have to ask then how Bob Marley managed to make the list? (ill give you George Clinton, although technically he shouldng be on a rock list either)

Are you kidding? A lot of Funkadelic`s stuff would put some psychadelia bands to shame.Check out their Maggot Brain album , thats a lot more rock than funk.

Fenixpunk 09-28-2005 12:20 PM

hey i said ill accept it, but technically hes not a rock frontman. the new willie nelson cd is reggae, but that dont make him rasta

Urban Hat€monger ? 09-28-2005 12:26 PM

Yeah but Funkadelic were a funk rock band , Willie Nelson isn`t a country rasta.

Clinton is every bit a rock frontman as James Brown.

Fenixpunk 09-28-2005 12:55 PM

i understand the Clinton= funk rock logic and wont get into James Brown making the list cuz i can see where he fits in too, and i even said i accepted Clinton being on the list, but the question i was asking was how Marley can make the list and not Cash?

Because Country isn't a subgenre to rock, Funk and Reggae has its roots in Rock N Roll and R&B music, reggae and funk aren't any less rock than metal or prog in my opinion...I mean, can you really imagine someone putting putting Genesis in the same catagory as Buddy Holly?, or Pantera in the same catagory as Chuck Berry?, but those are still styles of rock right?, i hope you get my point.

PS.Speaking of chuck berry, im beginning to think that leaving him off was a bad idea, i probably will update it again. =(
