Default Sixx AM

I looked, couldn't find a thread. Which, I admit, surprised me.
Back in 2007 I loved Life Is Beautiful, never really followed up on it though, till late in 2008.
Went out and bought The Heroin Diaries and started a whole new love affair.
Based on Nikki Sixx's book The Heroin Diaries. Freaking genuis.
I LOVED it. Not one song, but ALL. Probably the BEST record I've heard in a long time.
Definitely reccomend giving this one a listen.

Here's the lyrics to one of my favourite on the record:

Courtesy Call:

[Dialtone, knocking]
[Female voice:] Housekeeping...
[Knocking]
[Female:] Hello, housekeeping?
[Tries, door, knocking]
[Female:] Hello?

Well you found me, but I don't know
Why you wanna save me...
Well, God is great and God is good
But God didn't help me when he could
And life dances so lonely by.

This is just a courtesy call
This is just a matter of policy
This is just an act of kindness
To let you know that your time is up
This is just a courtesy call
This is just a matter of policy
This is just an act of kindness
To let you know that your time is up

I, I can't feel anything
My arms are numb and I'm hoping
You noticed the line I left off
All that you'll find inside
Are bells and butterflies
But I'll be smiling when I die

This is just a courtesy call
This is just a matter of policy
This is just an act of kindness
To let you know that your time is up
This is just a courtesy call
This is just a matter of policy
This is just an act of kindness
To let you know that your time is up

This is just a courtesy call
This is just a matter of policy
This is just an act of kindness
To let you know that your time is up

[Knocking]
[Female:] Sir, I know you're in there; are you okay?
[Male voice:] Excuse me, ma'am, what's the problem here?
[Female:] No one answering.
[Male:] Who's in here. Hello?
[Knocking]
[Male:] Hello? Stepping in the room now...
[Keys jingle, LOUD blunt thump, dialtone gets louder]
[Male:] Oh Jesus Christ!
[Female:] Oh! Ooh!

This is just a courtesy call
This is just a matter of policy
This is just an act of kindness
To let you know that your time is up
This is just a courtesy call
This is just a matter of policy
This is just an act of kindness
To let you know that your time is up

This is just a courtesy call
(Why'd you want to save me?)
This is just a matter of policy
(Why'd you want to save me now?)
This is just an act of kindness
(What'd you want to do it for?)
To let you know that your time is up
This is just a courtesy call
(Why would you wanna save my life?)
This is just a matter of policy
(I know you did or you could)
This is just an act of kindness
(It's been comin' for a long time, long time...)
To let you know that your time is up

I have to say, The Heroin Diaries is... one of the greatest albums I own without a doubt. The lyrics without the music seem laughable but it kind of flows together.

And this was my favorite song on the album. I only have four loved tracks on last.fm and this is one of them (and, though I started my collection a couple years back, I have a collection of alot more than the 50 or so albums you're probably envisioning. I'm just really strict on "loving" stuff).

I think it's really hard to pick a song of the entire record. X-Mas In Hell stirs up something inside me whenever I hear it. "Welcome to my ****ing life."
It's magic.

As a song that was meant to be more of an intro, it's amazing. If you put it in the middle of the album I would be like "What the hell?"

I cannot recommend The Heroin Daires enough, then. I really can't.

Great album here. Bookend Sixx AM's disc with Saint Of Los Angles and you have a pretty good couple of hours

Axl Rose stole DJ Ashba away from Nikki Sixx though, so unless he dumps out of his GN'R gig... don't expect a follow up.

Great Album none the less. Rock On!

DJ Ashba stands out on this album way more than Nikki, in my opinion.
