They sound like every other mediocre post-grunge band that's popular today.

To me, there is absolutely nothing mediocre about the singer in this band, his vocal range is incredible. I saw Shinedown live at Soundwave last weekend, they ****in rocked.

I quite enjoy Shinedown's music. I enjoy the melody along with the lyrics, but I guess if I like Nickelback, I can like anything, right?

Yeah but he sounds EXACTLY like Chris Cornell. Somebody we're given way too much of by the media, anyway.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.

That's weird. I saw them in 2009 and they were terrible.

Saw them live a few years ago and I thought they were pretty good. I don't find that he sounds like Chris Cornell, but, everyone has they're own opinion.

Anyway, anyone hear their new song today?
It's called Bully and I really liked it.

And as to why some people somewhat like this band but have trouble becoming a fan is because they quickly turned into a cheap radio rock band shortly after their excellent debut album. This new single they have released titled 'Bully' is the worst yet, as if not even trying anymore.

This isn't opinion, this is fact. He sounds nothing like Cornell. Entirely different singing styles, ranges, tones and approaches to vocalization. Cornell is closer to Robert Plant than any modern raspy grunge influenced singers, such as Brent Smith.

Not one of my particular favorites, find them to be pretty generic..

You forgot to mention that Cornell is actually talented(not just vocally but lyrically).

Shinedown sucks so bad it's a wonder they don't realize it themselves. They butchered a classic too! I mean come on, anybody that thinks their cover of Simple Man was good-or even decent-seriously needs to punch themselves right in the genitals. No f*cking around, do it right now. Both hands, full power, hammerfist-now.
