Your Recommendations
 

Come to this thread when you feel like finding some new and exciting bands.
What you do is post some bands you like. Then someone who has some suggestions can come along and recommend them to you.

For example, I post:

I'd like some suggestions for bands with similar music to Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam. If anyone can help me out?

And then as people are flicking through the thread they see your post and can go:

Well judging by that you want to check out Alice In Chains and the Meat Puppets. If you like those I'll recommend you some more later on.

Hopefully this will be a quickfire way to find great music off other people.
So we'll give it a whirl.

Oh and no bitching if you disagree with someone elses suggestion. It will be upto the enquirer to decide if it was useful or not. Have fun:yeah:

See if you can find any of them. I don't personally know what they're like, I've just heard they are for people who like Opeth.

Add Farmakon to that list. Their resemblance to Opeth is uncanny at times, but they still have their own little niche.

I wanna find more bands like Symphony X....i've looked for some time now and not been succesful...Dont mention Dream Theater because i dont like them

I recomend The Mighty Mighty Bosstones who like ska and heavy rock.

Shame they suck though, aint it?

hmm I just thought it would be better if we reccomend good bands and if your going to reccomend ska make it good ska.

My point exactly. But if that is too hard how about a similar band to The White Stripes.

Lalotoa. I just did a wee search and found something about "If you like RATM then you should check out Lalotoa".

Might have to have a wee looksy myself.

I like them. They have the same vibe as RATM but nothing else is really the same. Guitar is different, same with vocals. Great to me!

The Scecials are pretty good but they really don't sound like TMMB overall so I would find it hard to compare the two.

I also recomend Flogging Molly for though who like Celtic and Folk music.
