They are both albums by Suicide Silence.

Not a fan. I just don't find anything that refreshing or new about them. Kinda boring.
|
lol deathcore
|
Saw these guys back in May, they sounded pretty good but i wasn't a huge fan. Maybe if I was more of a fan of deathcore or whatever you wanna label it. It was pretty funny though watching their lead singer though, for a minute I thought he was trying to fly or something.

As far as deathcore goes the only band i can stand for long periods of time is Despised Icon
|
Just saw them last night opening for Machinehead. Didnt think I would like them but they put on a great show and sounded pretty tight. There vocalist is a good frontman., and had some pretty crazy tattoos.

despite mostly negative things I've heard about them and Job For a Cowboy, i'm still pretty much gonna check both out, along with Symphony X, Laguna Coil, Tiamat and Soilwork, the next time I go to the metal specialist stores

They're one of those bands that have absolutely nothing at all original to contribute, but they just do what they do perfectly. I generally can't stand deathcore, or are at least completely indifferent and would just rather listen to REAL death metal, but Suicide Silence have a level of energy and viciousness that can't be denied.
Also, they don't use that chunky, Despised Icon style guitar tone that every band uses just because it makes for heavier breakdowns. I ****ing hate that ****. It's not quite as chainsaw-like as I'd prefer, but it's a start. |

and knuckle-dragging I've ever heard. You can't be "br0000tal" in a v-neck, just sayin' |
Reading the first two pages of this thread, I couldn't help but think this board has improved immensely. It's a sad day when deathcore is serious.business.
Anyways, I don't like this. Batlord has a point when he says they have energy; but, hey, they are a metal band. Bands with energy are a dime a dozen; is it noteworthy, like Deicide's Legion? Nope. |
