^Nocturne is one of the heaviest melodic albums I've heard Good stuff.

my typical The Virgin-style response - why do you want to listen to much of that?

try My Bloody Valentine instead

I'm going to be like somebody else, but I can't remember who.

You mean "My Bloody Period".

My Bloody Valentine's 'Lovless' is incredible. Not that a metalcore thread is the right place for a shoegaze band, haha.

Can we stop with the metalcore hate?

I like metalcore, let's just get that out of the way.
I'm not gunna be like "lul if you don't like A Day To Remember your a fggt", I can understand not liking a band. However going out of your way to troll someone for liking Attack Attack or Asking Alexandria is a little ridiculous. I listen to metalcore because I like the way it sounds, does that mean I listen to the wrong music
simple answer: no
I understand there will always be *******s, I just wanted to get this off my chest because I was being trashed for my musical tastes and it kind of upset me.

Are you 16? These bands are generally looked down on because of their lack of technical ability when making music as well as the nature of their music and image being embarrassingly scene.
Most of these bands follow a sequence of loud, loud, loud, scream, clean, scream, electro break, scream, loud, loud.
It's all a bit generic and lacking in any innovation or unique ideas. The whole genre is just a cesspit of horrible music.

a) It isn't the only thing I like. I listen to Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Cannibal Corpse, etc.
b) I don't judge the music I like on technical ability, just if I think they sound good or not. (for example, I like attack attack and skip the foreplay for their electronic influences. I like all that remains and as I lay dying because they really are talented. Stuff like that)

You really need to be less self-conscious about what genres of music you listen to. This isn't the first time you've gone off on some tangent that didn't originate here. While I won't lie, you probably won't find much metalcore love here, nobody has called you a faggot for liking it either. I mean you went off on someone just for saying "nu metal", learn to like music for the music, not for how it makes others perceive you.

I think one of the problems a lot of metalcore bands have is that they try to capitalize on temperamental teenagers with ideologies of not fitting in and nobody understanding them. They try to project certain angsty emotions with the clean/scream combination which just falls flat on feeling sincere because it's all too forced.
There are no genuine emotions put into the music, and it just comes across as cheap and gimmicky, but the young people they target are overwhelmed by the idea that bands such as Asking Alexandria understand them, and are suckered into listening to their music.

Yeah I guess your right. I guess I should be more "You don't like it? Oh well I do." I just don't like that feeling of being "wrong" for enjoying the like of Bring Me The Horizon or A Day To Remember.
