F*ck the Police! F*ck the System!

Which one of these songs are better in your opinion? I chose the RATM one for the poll option because they are at least rock so they are comparable. Vote away!
I voted for F*ck the Police, better lyrically, like the beat, like the guitar line better.

bungalow 04-09-2006 09:52 AM

Just so we're clear.

F*ck The Police is an NWA song.
I do enjoy Rage's cover of it though.

Muzak 04-09-2006 10:47 AM

Yeah, I said the Rage one because it is actual rock and can be compared to System of a Down's song.

Music Is Pwnage 04-09-2006 11:44 AM

I've never liked Rage, so it's System for me.

Urban Hat€monger ? 04-09-2006 12:49 PM

Rage Against The Machine = Fisher Price my first political band
System Of A Down = Generic shouty metal type stuff

Stick me down for who gives a fuck

metaliger 05-06-2006 10:26 PM

I need to **** the sys!

FTS is much better IMO

boo boo 05-07-2006 01:52 AM

**** The Police.

rudgrljungalist 05-07-2006 02:27 AM

I thought Feck the Police was done by Ice T, more specifically. Am I grossly mis-informed? Is that not the song that caused him a lot of greif? The mayor reading the lyrics on t.v, and how CB4 (movie w cris rock) mocked the whole deal in the movie? Either way I vote %$#* the Po-Po, whoever did it, b/c its older than System, meaning SOAD could have easily been influenced by that song.

Um, NWA did fuck the police, rage covered it and seeing as this is a rock/metal forum he used the rage version. Cop Killer (Body Count) was the song Ice T got alot of crap over.

I vote for rage.

rudgrljungalist 05-07-2006 03:06 AM

K, my brain can't retain things the way it used to. See, I knew there was a cop reference and I made some weird non-existent connection. Thanks for informing me w/o coming down 2 hard :) I hope I haven't enraged anyone...

Frances 05-07-2006 03:34 AM

Vote 1 RATM

I hate system, his voice sounds fake to me.

mosesandtherubberducky 05-07-2006 10:29 AM

RATM takes the cake, they actually knew what they would sing about.

Rabid Sea Turtles 05-07-2006 04:57 PM

Rage wins....Fuck The Police.

Laces Out Dan! 05-08-2006 10:07 PM

I voted rage...only because i dont like the other song..i love rage but its one of my least favourite songs

Dax 05-09-2006 08:01 AM

I hate both songs. because I can't stand those artist that don't agree with their government or whatever the **** it is...

I mean both bands have those politicaly stupid songs, I mean c'mon after listening a few songs you KNOW the band is against the whole ****in system.

My vote: I don't like either band so they both suck.

boo boo 05-09-2006 08:09 AM

Don, don't you think that maybe you were banned for a reason?

I bet you're still convinced that people here respect you though.

Dax 05-09-2006 08:13 AM

Who the hell is don? I just signed in for the first time.
You can check my Ip's and stuff.

boo boo 05-09-2006 08:19 AM

Pfft.

Your grammar, smirky remarks and musical preference bares more than a passing similarity to Don's.

I wont buy your story until someone gives you a IP check.... I'll be keeping an eye on you.

Dax 05-09-2006 08:23 AM

Fine keep an eye on me I don't care if I were don I would know who the hell you are. But hey I've never seen you in my life.

And what kind of smirky remarks have I made?
I want examples,

Besided you only talked to me for a couple of posts so you don't even know my musical preferences.

And what the hell is wrong with my grammar?

boo boo 05-09-2006 08:25 AM

There was the "SOAD prog metal?... Yeah and i'm the dead pope" comment.

Then there was when you just came out of nowhere and already started blirting off about genres and went on about how "this band is this" and "this band is not that" which is EXACTLY what Don did when he first joined.

So yeah, it makes me suspicious.

Dax 05-09-2006 08:31 AM

Ah, see that makes it a lot clearer. Anyway on a less dark note, we should stop arguing about the same thing in two different threads.

boo boo 05-09-2006 08:33 AM

Well you're rationalizing... Maybe you're not Don after all. =P

If so then i appologise, me and this Don fellow had a horribly bad relationship, and he was banned just recently, so it's likely that he could start another account.

Dax 05-09-2006 08:38 AM

Yeah well don't worry, I'm just hoping that the next time I go a bit over the top someone will say in a normal adult manor to calm down.

anyway I'm sorry i offended anyone but I just get a bit sick of politcaly active bands that just scream out **** the system and expecially **** the police.
I agree that sometimes they're not that fantastic but they still are needed right?

That was what I was trying to say.

Sound Devastation 05-09-2006 08:40 AM

They both suck equally.. in my opinion of course.

Dax 05-09-2006 08:41 AM

Again sound devestation, why do they suck?

Sound Devastation 05-09-2006 08:44 AM

cause the music is bad? ive talked about SOAD in the other thread... Rage, do my head in for similar reasons, and because their riffs are all very similar and dont go anywhere. i hate bands whos songs have the same riff all the way though... dont they get bored playing it?

Dax 05-09-2006 03:48 PM

Again I completely agree.

blastingas10 10-30-2011 03:23 AM

Rage sucks? What is wrong with yall? Tom Morello is great. Not only is he creative in his style but hes also pretty technically good. And Zach De La Rocha is better than any rapper out there today with some pretty good lyrics to match. They make music that stands for something. They bring some pretty important matters to peoples attention, like the case of Leonard Peltier. We need Rage to come back and make some new music, we could use more bands like them.

You hate artists who dont agree with their government? I guess who hate people who dont agree with their government. Which is pretty stupid.

Zach does not just scream out "**** the system", this song is a poor example because this isnt even a Rage song. He actually has some pretty intelligent lyrics about the state of society today.

I highly doubt Dax is going to log in after 5 years to see your reply. There no real reason to bump a 5-year old thread either.

I've seen RATM live and they are pretty tight, but on record they bore me. They're kind of like political rock for beginners to be honest. SOAD I can tolerate a bit more as they're a bit more musically original and don't take themselves too seriously, but still these days I would go elsewhere for my political fix.

blastingas10 10-30-2011 12:30 PM

I didnt realize this was 5 years old. I dont like SOAD, they annoy me. I hardly listen to Rage anymore but theyre still bad ass. Better than any other rap-rock group.
