Korn gets a bad rap, their first album was brilliant. Too bad everything after that sucked and they influenced so many other musical abominations. I still listen to the first album once in a while

Unfortunately, a lot of bands DO have to put out music to make money, rather than through a pure to express something or to create something. For many musicians, its pretty much the only marketable skill they have, so what else can you expect them to do? Some musicians have to do it to survive, some have to do it to continue their expensive lifestyles. The simplest thing you can do to combat this is not to buy their music, I suppose. If the music's so bad, then why on earth did anybody buy it? (I'm sure a lot of people did, but why?!)

Well, you've got to remember, not everybody is young and virile. Kenny G music wasn't exactly marketed for the young, the hip or the music-obsessed. It was (is?) for the elderly, the impotent and those who really enjoy lift-music. There are people out there who like it and who buy it, much as there are people out there who think go-faster stripes make cars go faster, or people who think that comb-overs will fool others. I don't know many of these people on a social level, but they exist!!

That maybe the band's idea of what good music is has changed. That maybe they're not "clinging to stardom" just changing how they play to suit themselves.

Then Staind may not be one of 'em. I've seen alot of artists change their perspective in music over the years. Alot of top Dons in music have changed styles to stay up with the times or meet a new feeling. Just for example (don't attack me on this) take Disturbed, The Sickness was alot of anger, hate, and hurt passions. Believe was more docile, some anger but more leaning towards making amends. 10,000 Fists is back into that anger but more heavy hearted, there's a kind of sadness to it almost.

Point being, to those who's music is a way of releasing their feelings their music changes with their emotions. To those who's music is about how they live or just modern life and styles in general, the music changes constantly with time.
