Fav Thrash Metal Band?
wots ur fav thrash metal bands?
mine are simple. Megadeth and Anthrax Megadeth have (or had befor the split) the energy, and excellent riffs and even the vocals. I must admit Dave Mustaine is no Meatloaf. But his style of singing suited the band down to the T. And Anthax had the RAW POWER attitude which is hard to find in todays bands. Anthrax are still together, and they still have the same attitude which defines them from all other bands. The only difference with them now, is they have strayed away slightly from the original Thrash sound that they started with. |
my fav thrash band at the moment is a little known u.k group called army of flying robots. they are arsome. check them out

I think your forgetting a certain Slayer??
|
true. Slayer are one of the greats. But in my opinion, the top 5 are:
Megadeth, Metallica, Pantera, Anthrax, Slayer. So that is why i aint mentioned slayer. |
Slayer, duh.
|
Although those are good metal bands, and slayer is the greatest metal band ever, when it comes to good ol' thrash, give me some SUICIDAL TENDENCIES!!!
|
Slayer!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Speed Metal
Speed Metal took the speed and DIY attitude of Hardcore Punk music and combined them with Metal’s precision, guitar solos and lyrical content. Speed Metal dominated Heavy Metal music for a large part of the ‘80s producing such superstars as: Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Pantera Don't try to argue this is from the METAL DICTIONARY. Afraid to say but some of those are wrong |
Speed and Thrash can be used almost interchangeably. Though, Thrash tends to be used for bands like Slayer, Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth, etc., and Speed tends to be metal acts like Judas Priest and Motorhead. Genres are almost useless nowadays, you can't put one band into just one genre any more.
Anyways, I'd have to go with Dark Angel. |

Thrash Metal
Thrash was essentially a stylistic expansion of Speed Metal, with more varied tempos and greater emotional range. Heaviness and rhythm are still paramount over melody, and much of the punk influence remains intact - Anthrax, Slayer, Pantera, and Sepultura typify this strain of Thrash. But the genre also made room for more complex, classical music-influenced acts such as Metallica, Mercyful Fate, Megadeth, and Celtic Frost. The former group of bands eventually gave rise to both Death Metal and, arguably, Nu Metal, while the latter spawned Black Metal Also from the Metal Dictionary. Sorry didn't see. |
Celtic Frost my all time fav old school thrash metal band!!!
|
Slayer, Pantera, Anthrax, and others... Megadeth is quite overrated, though.
|
Anthrax rule all.
