Hole

I did some searching and I couldn't find a thread about Hole...

I love Hole, I think they are awesome. What do you guys think of them?

I think my favourite album is Live Through This, although they don't have a lot to pick from haha.

one_more_atrocity 04-28-2006 08:07 AM

never ever heard of them in my life! what type of music are they? ..... whats the best song from them aswel??

MURDER JUNKIE 04-28-2006 08:16 AM

Courtney is a talentless twat

bruise_violet 04-28-2006 10:52 AM

I love Jennifers Body, Gutless and Plump the most. And Live Through This is such a good album.

She really cannot sing though, Courtney

tdoc210 04-28-2006 06:47 PM

i wish courtney would die but then again i like some songs

bruise_violet 04-29-2006 04:56 AM

Courtney is a bit crazy but I think she's cool.

And I hate the whole 'Courtney killed Kurt' thing, it's really lame.

But this is about Hole so I'm gonna stop complaining now.

Cheese 04-29-2006 06:02 AM

The only Hole song I care for is their cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Gold Dust Woman" for the Crow 2, City Of Angels soundtrack.

Aside from that, they hold no interest for me.

By the way, did your username come from the song by Babes In Toyland?

bruise_violet 04-29-2006 06:28 AM

Yes, I love Babes In Toyland. Apparently the song Bruise Violet is about Kat being mad at Courtney when they fell out, but she says thats not true.

mmhmm and it would have been impossible for her to kill him too, and why anyways she could have made lots of money from there century 21 tax free 800$ a month real estate

sleepy jack 04-29-2006 01:43 PM

Jesus, does any thread even remotley relating to Kurt Cobain someway have to to turn into a who killed him discussion?

I like one hole song, thats it.

swim 04-29-2006 01:50 PM

babes in toyland> hole.
I don't like Courtney or any of the music she's ever made.

holdyoualways 04-29-2006 02:04 PM

the only hole song i like is "celebrity skin"
& i say "like" very loosely

blackTshirt 04-29-2006 02:52 PM

bruise_violet 04-29-2006 05:43 PM

Have you guys heard Plump?

If not, give it a try. It's good!

anarcyst_pye 07-15-2008 04:51 PM

Who Else Here Loves Hole And Not Courtney? Then Come On Here And Join Me For A Fun Chat. By The Way, No Complaints On Here, Seriously, This Is For True Fans Of Hole And Not Courtney Love, If You Have Nothing Nice To Say Then Complain Somewhere Else Cause I Won't Except Your Crap Here.

Well Courtney Did Hire Her Bitch Micheal Dewitt To Kill Kurt Which Is Pretty Damn ****in' Obvious, No Doubt About It.

I have a really soft spot in my heart for Living Through This, i think it's one of the most accessible albums i've heard, i fell for it straight away. I can understand why it doesn't really make Best Album lists but for a quick blast of girl rock i don't think it can be beaten. There's possibly more to Courtney Love than she gives on!

Actually, TIME magazine named Live Through This as one of the best 100 albums of all time. Quite an alcolade...and I have to say it's an amazing album, almost as good as Nevermind and definitely up there as one of the best 90's albums ever. Say what you want about Courtney, but Hole were chock full of talent. Violet is amazing.

neverthesame 12-04-2010 09:50 AM

Of course, the debate rages on as to how much of a part Kurt played in writing Live Through This... he was at least present for some of the recording sessions.

I actually like the Celebrity Skin album a lot - Dying is a good song. Reasons To Be Beautiful and Use Once & Destroy are outstanding rock songs in my opinion.

I think Courtney's slightly dodgy singing gives their music a great edge, really like it.

Raust 12-04-2010 10:08 AM

Hole pretty much sucks. Courtney was riding on the coat tails of Kurt's success and now we've heard of them. Without him they'd just be some ****ty underground band that a few hipsters would name drop :finger: Other than that I just can't stand there music.

TIME magazine does NOT share your opinion, sweetheart.

And for those callous Cobain-obsessed conspiracy theorists, Courtney was making music BEFORE she met Kurt, and he didn't write any of her songs. :)

I hear the Courtney Love was the singer for Faith No More for a short amount of time long before they enlisted Patton. Funny little factoid.

Hole was also more popular than Nirvana before 'Nevermind' came out, so it's really funny to suggest that anyone was riding on anyone else's coattails.

i honestly have a soft spot for Courtney, partially because i think she's so bats h i t insane and i feel a bit sorry for her. she's not a bad songwriter at all, and 'live through this' is still one of my favorite albums.
her solo stuff, however, is ****. i prefer her with eric (who's also insanely talented).

Er, what? Their first album came out only a week before Nevermind and wasn't particularly popular.
