Iron Maiden: Do they still have it? Fav Songs?
OK OK. Iron Maiden have been around for a hell of along time, which is an achievement in itself! But they have also had alot of very good songs.
I just wanted to know if ppl still think they have what they had when they started out. Are they still as good? or better? or worse? And also what are ur fav Iron Maiden songs? I personally do think they still have that X-Factor which makes them such a good band. And my fav 5 Maiden songs are: Number Of The Beast Blood Brothers 2 Minutes to midnight Run To The hills Sign Of The Cross altho i love more or less ll thieir songs. Thanx |
aces high! i love that song. run to the hills is also awsome as is for whom the bell tolls. but i also like fear of the dark. awsome band. these three bands we've been discussing (metallica and megadeath), along with david bowie, i would say were the three most influential metal bands of the eithies by a long bloody shot. i cant figure out who was THE most though. mehh
Cant stand them.Cheeeese!!!
how can you not like them!?! ahhh man. im a fan. they're funny. though they are cheesy. mehh
Just cant get passed Bruce's opera style vox. They really irritate me.
cant see it from a humorous point of view? i enjoy them because for a death metal group...their music is very upbeat, the singing is just funny and the inage is no more than makeup
Death Metal???
whoa. wrong thread, i thought you were talking about cradle of filth for some reason. no i do not consider iron maiden as death metal. my bad
Oh.That would explain.
i love the clip to aces high. the antics on stage.....would have been a show before they turned what like 50? and the costumes...two thumbs up
Aces High
The Wickerman Writing wise, they dont have it anymore but they have classics. |
are they still producin music then. i didn't know that. Run to the Hills is the first iron maiden song that i heard and i got right in to them. Fear of the Dark, No more Lies and Number of the Beast. But most of there songs are great i just can't list them all
My top 5:
- Alexander the Great - Rime of the Ancient Mariner - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son - Hallowed be thy Name - Sign of the Cross |
I reckon they are still going strong, A Matter of Life and Death was pretty good I thought.
Their best tracks? Wow that would take a while. All the obvious ones Aces High, Run to the Hills, The Trooper, Phantom of the Opera etc are awesome. Of the less celebrated tracks you can't go past songs like Tailgunner, The Prisoner, Sun and Steel, The Clansman, Deja Vu, The Clairvoyant, Judas be my Guide and The Legacy. |
Gotta love the old school songs. Bruce still has a great voice but I've since moved on to other music.
Holy crap, someone actually knows Rime of the Ancient Mariner and likes it.
1. Rime Of Teh Ancient Mariner 2. Number Of Teh Beast 3. Powerslave 4. Aces High 5. Run To Teh Hills |
Been on a huge Iron Maiden kick lately. Their first five albums are just gold.
Bruce's voice blows me away every time I listen to them. My 5 favorite tracks would have to be
