Doom and Extreme Metal. (rock, trance, genre, albums, fan)

most of you seem to disagree that metal should have its own forum.. so lets see how long a metal topic lasts in the rock section.

anyone into Doom? extreme doom in particular? (Khanate, Atavist, ASVA, Nadja, Moss, Unearthly Trance etc?) or My Dying Bride?

personally this is one of the only metal genres i truely enjoy. i used to be into a lot of death metal.. but hmm, i dunno, grew out of it i guess.

Ok I doubt this thread will last very long, but I like a lot of bands although I don't really know any good doommetal bands, except for my dying bride wich I don't like haha.

but I'm checking out khanate and atavist now.

What My Dying Bride stuff have you heard? i call my self a fan but still cant stand their earlier funeral-doom albums, they've changed alot over their career. Songs of Darkness, Words Of Light is my favourite of theirs... The Dreadful Hours is good too.

for some lighter stuff... anyone listen to Isis, Neurosis, Cult Of Luna etc?

I like some doom metal. I'm more into "Stoner Doom" though...Electric Wizard, Sleep, Black Sabbath, etc.

The only real Doom metal I listen too is the old stuff, Sabbath mainly.

Doom metal is good. Havnt heard enought of it, I will check out the bands you said. Im really into Grindcore at the moment (The Bezerker and Fuck! Im Dead) and just pure heavy and thrash metal \m/

Yeah same here. Sabbath are really good but I don't listen to much Doom metal. One of the genres of metal that I've never really explored.

I like some doom again, Sabbath and bands that tried to be Sabbath. Like Saint Vitus, Pentagram, Trouble and that kind of shit.

I like these guys. But I'm with SM on this, I prefer the Stoner style of music.
