Progressive.
Most everything progressive just seems so much more technical and more interesting to listen to.

If you want "interesting" listen to The Residents or Acid Mothers Temple. Now that's interesting.

RhythmGod 10-23-2006 06:08 PM

Yeah I ahve. They are "interesting..."
Not a big fan of them. But if they float your boat, that's good for you.

cardboard adolescent 10-23-2006 06:10 PM

They sure do. When it comes to prog I'm more of a fusion/krautrock kinda guy. And Henry Cow. I dig them too.

For the most part, Metal is probably more technical than Prog.

Even though Prog musicians tend to be much more versatile, and much much more interesting and creative in my opinion.

RhythmGod 10-23-2006 06:39 PM

^Exactly.
I can't say prog metal because it's not rock.

cardboard adolescent 10-23-2006 06:40 PM

It seems that nowadays everyone has a very skewed perception of what exactly "rock" is.

RhythmGod 10-23-2006 06:47 PM

well tell me please...what is rock?

cardboard adolescent 10-23-2006 06:50 PM

I think rock is a very hard to term to define, but in general it's used as an umbrella term for mostly guitar-oriented music that has its roots in country and blues, however detached it may be. Basically, I can't define rock, but I know it when I hear it.

Music that directly or indirectly evolved from blues and R&B.
