Metal: A Headbangers Journey the DVD
 
has anyone seen this movie? if so what are your thoughts on it? if not i suggest that you invest into getting this movie. this is a great documentry on metal, the history, origins, and whatever else you can think of. several big names in interviews, including dee snider, bruce ****enson, alice cooper, rob zombie, slipknot, and canibal corpse to name a few. no matter what type of metal you like this is for everyone who is a metal fan. enjoy.

it has a second dvd with a mini documentary on norwegin black metal. it put a lot of pieces in persective for me i just thought it was a great movie, i dunno everyone has their likes and dislikes.

ha in fact there is an interview with mayhem while they are drinking, its an interesting piece, ull have to watch the movie to see im not going to ruin it

Yeah they interview Norwegian Black Metal bands about the churches that burned down back in 1992 i think he interviewd Gaahl, I think he interviewed Meyhem on Wacken open air too.

EDIT: they also interview Ihsahn from emperor a little bit too.

i enjoyed the movie a lot, the DVD version on the 2nd disk has a chart that the guy made with the different genres of metal and some of the bands that pioneered it and made the genre popular, and also several extended interviews with people from the movie.

Yeah, it's definitely a good doco. One of the funny things is when the director is going through customs in one of the Scandinavian countries (can't remember which one), and he tells the officer that he's in the country to make a metal documentary. Then the officer eagerly replies "Black metal?"

And the interview with Mayhem is funny.
