Red Sparowes.... new album

anyone heard it yet? i havent decided how much i like it yet... its more rocky in sound and production, will have to give it a few more listens.

the artwork is stunning though.. and song titles are rediculous! can see both here

thoughts?

I will be looking into it soon. And that really is some seriously good artwork.

riseagainstrocks 07-28-2006 09:49 AM

Has it leaked yet? I have seen nothing of it...

Sound Devastation 07-28-2006 10:05 AM

possibly not... the release date Sept 11th. Ive only got it cause my boyfriend's reviewing it for Rock-A-Rolla magazine.

Expletive Deleted 07-28-2006 11:15 AM

Red Sparowes - At The Soundless Dawn

http://www.decoymusic.com/images/tra...edsparowes.jpg

1. Alone And Unaware, The Landscape Was Transformed In Front Of Our Eyes
2. Buildings Began To Stretch Wide Across The Sky, And The Air Filled With A Reddish Glow
3. Soundless Dawn Came Alive As Cities Began To Mark The Horizon, The
4. Mechanical Sounds Cascaded Through The City Walls And Everyone Reveled In Their Ignorance
5. A Brief Moment Of Clarity Broke Through The Deafening Hum, But It Was Too Late
6. Our Happiest Days Slowly Began To Turn Into Dust
7. The Sixth Extiction Crept Up Slowly, Like Sunlight Through The Shutters, As We Looked Back In Regret

It's hard to describe this album and how amazing it truly is. Post-rock at it's very best. Red Sparowes keeps things more grounded in nature than say, Isis or Pelican. With many samples of animal sounds throughout, the music makes you feel like you're in a garden. A garden of insane talent. Easily the best post-rock album of '04. And it's still amazing. Isn't this what the Albums Review forum is for?

I'll download it and give it a listen in any case.

riseagainstrocks 08-20-2006 08:04 PM

Well, since I'm uploading the album, and giving a quick review as a taste, I'd think not.

cardboard adolescent 08-20-2006 10:11 PM

I usually upload the album when I review it, but whatever.

Thanks for the upload.

If you don't come see them friday I'll hate you forever.

Sound Devastation 08-21-2006 02:23 AM

a very very good band.. also one of my favourite post-rock bands cause of their straight approach, no fiddling around.. also one of the best live bands ive ever seen. got that album on both CD and vinyl - very nice indeed.

the new album is a bit of a disappointment unfortunately... more rocky songs and production - song titles have gone from stupidly long to insane. the artwork is gorgeous though!

i still want the Gregor Samsa split vinyl but cant afford it :(
