None of these labels even existed when these records were made.
British metal this stuff is , no more no less.

The origins of thrash metal are generally traced to the late 1970s and early 1980s, when a number of bands began incorporating the sound of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM),[2] creating a new genre and developing into a separate movement from punk rock. This genre is much more aggressive compared to its relative, speed metal. There is often significant crossover from one metal category to another, and the influence of non-metal genres, including classical music and jazz, is not uncommon.

doom also started in the mid 80's.

Doom started back in the late 60s when Black Sabbath was formed. No offense.

I realize it wasn't 'called' Doom back then - but nonetheless, Black Sabbath are today considered the godfathers of Doom Metal.

By the way, NWoBHM RULES! Venom is my favorite! But I also love Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Samson, and a plethora of others!

*Bump*

I wouldn't mind another up of the original list ;)
Haven't heard 70% of those bands.

Anyways, I'd like to recommend Pagan Altar as well. If you like Black Sabbath and 80s British heavy metal, you'll definitely love them! Their S/T EP was released in 1982, which was their only release for a long while but 20 or so years later, they reunited and are still rocking out. The vocals might take time to get used to, but its the best part of their music for me. Just give it a bit of time.

Wow. I actually own around 75% of those original albums. I never realized they were all part of NWOBHM. Sick.

Definitely one of my favorites. I still haven't listened to much of the NWOBHM though.(other than the most popular ones)
