Dude, give me one reason he qualifys as the best... This is the best we are talking about, not the greatest...Its really a matter of skill and overall musicianship...Burtons technical skill is overrated, and with limited versatility, sure, he might have tried different things had he lived, but his death has prevented that from happening...The fact of the matter is, there are many more skilled players, and more creative to boot....Jaco, Wooten, Hamm, Sheenan, Chambers, Myung, Levin, Lee, Claypool and many others...You cant tell me that Burton is better than these guys...Sure you can tell me its your opinion, and thats understandible, but it could be my opinion that Sid Vicious is better than Chris Squire, that dosent mean its true, and you would certainly have the right to tell me im wrong.

I only ment in metal i am aware that there are many other better bass players however they ore not in this genre
