My question is, when does music become old music?

If I played Nirvana's "In Utero' to my girlfriend, she would considser it to be new.

And then there are songs that came out 1-2-3 months ago and have been thrashed by radio stations and clubs so much, that they're "Old" now.

Seriously. What the ...?

So, I don't really expect an answer, but feel free to try.

I think it depends on the context.
In this thread "old band" shud say "Bands started before '95".
But I guess "old" is rather used as another word for "obsolete".
Things from the past you don't like are "old", but some things are, like The Beatles to me for example, something new every day.
"Old" definitly got an negative connotation in our modern society.

Surely did. Honestly, I don't get it.

Music for me, is only as old as the last time I heard it on the radio or on Music Television.

Didnt NIN just realase a new album?

But just cause a band started before 95 and stopped doesnt mean their old.
