Default New music. Does it exite like it did back in the day?

Recently I've found only a few bands are doing new and exiting things, i was just wondering what other people thought about this...

i want something to inspire me, something new and completely awesome!! also, maybe i'm being dumb and it's already out there but i just haven't found it yet. So if you can think of any new interesting bands or just plain agree with me i would be interested to hear what you have to say.

cool

Understanding your sentiment well being a Brit myself, I can only suggest checking out the North American indie rock scene in depth. I did, and I found a wealth of exciting, creative, daring, edgy bands I never even dreamt existed. You'll be surprised at what you find, I guarantee you that.

as you look into some indie rock, look into some indie folk. much more satisfying and i think you'd like it.

i.e.

patrick wolf
bright eyes
etc etc.

Every time I see a thread like this, I keep going back to the days of vinyl.
The music is still as good, but the thrill of buying an album, or a 7" and playing them to death over the following weeks, will never return.

Do you think that is partly the actual physicality of buying vinyl and putting it on the deck? You can listen to a download repeatedly but owning the vinyl is something special and almost becomes a reward for parting with your hard earned cash.

If this song doesn't give you a hard on for the future of music than nothing will

I don't think anything now will excite nearly as much as it did back in the 60's/70's/80's.
