Maybe not your cup of tea. But this is the best "angry" metal album since Pantera's "Vulgar Display of Power". Awesome lyrics with crunching guitar riffs and speed metal drums that really get your blood pumpin. Voted as one of the best albums of 2007 by local (Denver) radio DJs. A VERY good debut release.
If you like 5FDP, check out Motograter. Which was the singer's previous band. |

They are amazing. :]

This band blows. Absolutely terrible is every sense of the word. There are a hundred bands out there doing the same things and doing them better. This band is a waste of time.
|
I have grown to like it. I guess it's not your type. War is the Answer is a good album in my opinion.
Bulletproof* Hard to See* Dying Breed No One Gets Left Behind* Far From Home Walk Away Falling in Hate Canto 34* Bad Company My Own Hell Burn It Down* Some of the tracks. I starred the ones I like. |

May I ask how it is that yourself and missdeathpunch2011.xoxo have the exact same IP address?

I think they're siblings.

We are siblings. I don't see why she made two accounts...

I like this version of Bad Company, off the album, war is the answer- Five Finger Death Punch -Bad Company. This is my favorite five finger death punch, the bleeding, off the album, the way of the fist.- - Five Finger Death Punch - The Bleeding. Stranger Than Fiction is OK.-
|
I've only recently listened to them very much but I have to agree with those saying they're awful. I was laughing earlier today at some of their lyrics, actually. Here's a fun excerpt:

American Capitalist (2011)
Track Listing
1. "American Capitalist" 2. "Under and Over It" 3. "The Pride" 4. "Coming Down" 5. "Menace" 6. "Generation Dead" 7. "Back for More" 8. "Remember Everything" 9. "Wicked Ways" 10. "If I Fall" 11. "100 Ways to Hate" Disc Two 1. Under And Over It (remixes) 2. The Pride 3. Remember Everything 4. 100 Ways To Hate Zoltán Báthory is a Hungarian-born musician. He is the co-founder, and one of the main songwriters for the Los Angeles-based hard rock band Five Finger Death Punch. Zoltán Báthory is a guitarist to "Keep an eye on". The drummers constant double kicking (personally) gets a little repetitious at times.:( I like "Back For More" and "Wicked Ways", "American Capitalist" is OK. |
I love these guys, although I admit I have yet to hear their newest release. When I get some extra cash, I plan on picking this up, along with a few others.
|
Really not a fan of these guys. I guess Under and over it is addressed at me.
Apparently it's about how they don't care who likes their music, cuz they're makin it. Or something. Did ya hear about this song that I wrote in ten minutes Did ya hear about it? Nah! It sucks good riddance. Did ya hear about me givin a **** Did ya hear about me scratchin my balls and my pits? I don't know the words really but sadly this is about right ^ |

To be honest, I never personally payed that much attention to the lyrics to actually get the meaning of the song. I guess that may be a bad habit I have listening to certain rock/metal bands. Other than these two lines below: "Did you hear the one about me losing my nerve" "Or how I'm just another fucking sheep in the herd" I actually listen to FFDP because of Zoltán Báthory, the guitar player. Zoltán is known for his heavy string gauge of .13 to .64 made by Dunlop. (Wow..that makes my finger tips hurt! Just thinking about using that string gauge). In his private life Zoltán is a Martial Artist Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner often appearing in Martial Art Magazines. He is affiliated with Professor Don Charley and Professor Amilcar Cipili of the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu lineage and possibly studies under Royler Gracie and Royce Gracie. According to the band's Facebook Page Zoltán won the silver medal at the Abu-Dhabi Pro Jiu-Jitsu World Trials in his division. He is also a co-owner of Alphadog Combat Gear, a high end Fight Gear Manufacturer working closely with star Athletes, UFC fighters and MMA Fight Leagues. |

I don't have high speed internet yet, mine is slow as hell..or I would be listening to all the bands, already suggested in all of the metal forums.:o: I know I'm missing out on a lot of kick ass bands. Who is some of your favorite (modern) metal guitarist? |
Quote:
Jeff Loomis-Nevermore Troy Azagthoth- Morbid Angel Phil Demmel-Machine Head Timo Tolkki-Startovarius Daron Malakian-System of a Down Mark Morton-Lamb of God John Schaffer-Iced Earth Kai Hansen-Gamma Ray Fredrik Thordandal-Meshuggah Mike Pike-High on Fire |
What I meant to say, Necromancer, was that I read that that song was a "F You!" to non-fans of the band talking down on the band. I understand they're highly technical, but the vocals make me want to rip my ears off.
Meshuggah, now that I can dig. Anyway I haven't listened to any of their work besides that radio single I accidentally heard when I was in my friends truck and he had the radio on, and the game Rock Band had a couple tracks of theirs that I played and whooped the crap out of on expert guitar (but yes, pretty difficult) |
I knew what you meant, and what you were talking about Brother. :)
|
Very good bruh-ddah
I don't mean to bag on them too much. If you enjoy their work, awesome! It's mostly the vocals that keep me away. The guitarist knows his chops for sure. The band is very technical which I like, but just not for me. |
The fact that their vocalist was part of that horrible abortion of a band Motograter has kept me away from paying any attention to them. My friend really likes them, though.
|
Not exactly my type of band, but they are good
