I will love it when they finally hang up their guitars.

MURDER JUNKIE 03-15-2008 08:48 AM

All of these tunes would make me leave said drinking establishment, if you want people to stay you have to play what is young hip and trendy. If you want to play for 7 music snobs nursing micro-brews and comparing the ratio of hops to barley play a bunch of obscure covers and originals, thus is the paradox of live music

sweet_nothing 03-15-2008 11:56 AM

song 2- blur
rock n roll- velvet underground
search & destroy- the stooges
gouge away- the pixes
blitzkreig bop- the ramones

sleepy jack 03-15-2008 12:28 PM

Playing rock covers of cheesy 80s pop songs>Playing supposed rock anthems.

Comus 03-15-2008 05:48 PM

I can't belive you never heard of it. It is oringnally done by
The Kings men in 1963, it has been covered by numerous bands such as Black Flag, The Who, Joy Division, the stooges, the clash....etc.

jackhammer 03-15-2008 07:18 PM

Motorhead did it better.

If by the Kingsmen you mean Richard Berry than you'd be correct.

Yes but the Kingmes made it popular, you don't have to correct everything I post.

sleepy jack 03-15-2008 07:50 PM

I do when you're wrong.

sweet_nothing 03-15-2008 08:13 PM

Anything but Freebird!

I've heard some pretty good AC/DC covers in bars...that's my suggestion, if your vocalist can pull it off. :yeah:

TheJew 03-19-2008 08:42 PM

It can depend on where you live.

For example, if you live anywhere from Texas west and like, Virginia south, you need to know Sweet Home Alabama. But if you live in like, the northeast, you'll wanna know some grunge.

lucylamppost 03-19-2008 08:57 PM

maybe its because I am a girl so that means I always have a little bitch in me but I rarely like cover bands with chick singers. like girls covering male classic rock songs rub me the wrong way.

MURDER JUNKIE 03-20-2008 09:57 AM

I'm thinking of starting an all male cover band that only performs songs sung by women. After all, why be A cover band when you can be THE cover band??

tribute 03-28-2008 10:53 AM

what about I WANT TO BREAK FREE by QUEEN??

Never listened to them but an old friend loved them sooo much he was crazy about them.
