A song can be good, but w/o a strong voice to sing it all you've got is a nice little poem. But Creed did have better songs than Alter Bridge. I still get chills every time I hear "My Own Prison."

Thats is not true at all. Some of the best pieces of music in history have been instrumental. I think quality playing does more than any voice ever could.

Creed broke up because Scott Stapp was, and still is, highly addicted to achohol. He couldn't perform live at all(even worse than Scott Weiland and Slash are rumored to during Velvet Revolver concerts). The band eventually just got sick of the way they're shows were losing money and reputation. So they broke up. Scott has release one(or maybe two, I dunno) solo albums, but I've heard they're both pretty crappy.
That said, Creed's vocals were much better with the exception of Alter Bridge's "Rise Today", in my opinion. The drumming, soloing, and invigorating vocals that Myles somehow summons for once make it a huge hit for me. Plus, I recently saw them live with Papa Roach, Three Days Grace, and Another Animal(look them up if you like Godsmack and you haven't heard yet), and they pulled a hella tight show for the equipment they were using. All in all, Creed>Alter Bridge. Now, if only Scott would get off the bottle... |
