I just found a little known album...

I was rummaging around my collection today and stumbled upon a VERY old album. Pink Floyd's Obscured by Clouds is absolutely fantastic. I can't get enough of it, and it doesn't sound like anything else they've done (well, perhaps Meddle).

I don't mean to act pretentious, but does anyone else have something like that: a good album by a band that somehow got unnoticed? I'm always into discovering new music, and it would be great to hear people share their hidden gems.

It's by Pink Floyd, it's not THAT unknown.

This thread seems kinda pointless to me, I'll give it a while but if it goes nowhere I'll lock it.

neutral milk hotel's debut gets no attention, and i find it a great listen.

Self-titled? I've never heard. I only have ITAOTS. Is it hard to find?

The Wallflowers' latest release. Everyone knows them because of two or three hits on 96's Bringing Down The Horse. This album is far superior in my opinion. Or maybe just because I've heard Bringing Down The Horse too much.

David Clemmer's Tightrope City. It's available for download on RYM if anyone's interested.

Excellent. These are great albums.

I forgot to mention one... Bon Iver's For Emma, Forever Ago is a great album. Kinda reminds me of an acoustic TV on the Radio with better harmonies.

I have commented on both Obscured By Clouds and Bon Iver:

Let me know what you think.

I agree with you on Obscured By Clouds wholeheartedly. I too found Childhood's End to be a simple but excellent work, but I had no idea that it was a force of Gilmour's. I was also interested to read about the bifurcated process of creating Meddle. Thanks a lot for that. I left a comment about For Emma on your thread.
