Warped Tour '08

Hey Guys Im Just Bored on here and I wanna know who all went to this year's warped tour because unfortunately i couldn't go,

so name a few bands you really liked that played live, and bands that you didn't like that play live

decadence21 08-03-2008 12:03 AM

The main band I want to see is Rise Against

Laces Out Dan! 08-03-2008 12:51 AM

The Lineup is horrible. The only band/artist I'd wanna see is Matisyahu.

I saw Matisyahu last summer. When he came out he seemed a little dissapointed in the size of the crowd, but I think once he realized it was Wyoming he stopped caring so much. All in all he puts on a great show, and I would definitely pay to see him again.

i sorta agree that the lineup could of been better but there was a few bands that i would have loved to see live who are:

Sky Eats Airplane
Say Anything
The Devil Wears Prada
Greeley Estates
Norma Jean
Forever The Sickest Kids
The Classic Crime

I didn't get Matisyahu or Rise Against, My Warped was on July 30th in Cincinnati :(

simplosys 08-04-2008 09:28 PM

I thought that the name "The Devil Wears Prada" sounded interesting at least until I heard them. Compared to them, Norma Jeam sounds a lot better.

austinsaysmeow 08-13-2008 11:21 AM

i went atlanta, saw

devil wears prada
reel big fish
matisyahu
against me!
as i lay dying
a day to remember

and some others i cant remember but this year was pretty bad compared to others

sweet_nothing 08-13-2008 11:43 AM

I went to the one in Houston in July, very boring.

Alfred 08-13-2008 11:51 AM

The Warped Tour ain't what it used to be.

Yeh, it used to be crap now it's just shit. Like that?

IplayLacrosse 08-13-2008 08:28 PM

reel big fish, as i lay and devil wears prada would have been all i wanted to see, but i got grounded =[
i wish they would go back to having mostly nobodies and them playing their hearts out every second they were on stage, rain or shine. that was warped tour.

Alfred 08-16-2008 07:29 PM

I'd see Reel Big Fish and Pennywise. That's it.

Maybe I'd check out one of the metalcore bands so I could mosh, or piss off some scene kid who's trying to enjoy the show, or some power pop band for some catchy sh!t (guilty pleasure).

austinsaysmeow 08-18-2008 11:21 AM

do you think the same dude who booked the bands in earlier years is still doing it?

FaSho 08-19-2008 03:27 PM

went in charlotte on july 13

ill rank who i saw by how good the show was

great:
reel big fish
devil wears prada
farewell
every time i die

good:
story of the year
say anything
greely estates
bedouin soundclash
greely estates
pink spiders
jacks mannequin
anberlin

bad:
color fred
cobra starship

horrible:
dillinger escape plan
angels and airwaves(probably the worst show ive ever seen)

it was ok but the crowd participation level was terrible the only moshing was at devil and ETID and the only time there was crowdsurfing and singing along and such was RBF and say anything

Alfred 08-19-2008 03:31 PM

Not to mention Jeffree Star is on the Warped Tour this year.

I mean, how low can you get?

FaSho 08-19-2008 03:35 PM

ha only for one day at least...
but it would have been fun to throw **** ...

Alfred 08-19-2008 03:39 PM

Whatever, doesn't Hot Topic sell his merchandise?

That would explain it.

Warped used to be a pop-punk and skate punk festival. Now it's a scene kid festival.

FaSho 08-19-2008 03:44 PM

yea the skate ramps' always had the best bands and they dont even but that stage on the lineup sign anymore you have to figure it out for yourself or miss all the good bands

FaSho 08-20-2008 02:10 PM

i like the band they just put on a really bad show

austinsaysmeow 08-20-2008 05:05 PM

dude i thought dillinger had a good show.

crowd sucked though

FaSho 08-21-2008 05:11 PM

maybe that was it..the crowd was ****ing terrible this year

zekethefreak 08-26-2008 01:20 AM

I saw the Salt Lake show, and it was surreal. Mainly, because some of the biggest draws were bands/artists that weren't really part of the Punk/Emo format. One of the biggest crowd pleasers was transvestite Techno (occasionally Screamo) Jeffree Star. And Katy Perry. Who would have thought that the girl with the number one Pop single in the country, would be playing one of the smaller stages, to a crowd of 100 or so people? And Charlotte Sometimes? I loved her set, but still not the traditional Warped fare.

Alfred 08-26-2008 08:05 AM

What? Katy Perry is on Warped?

Fuck this tour.
